Swiped Habzoud Hisan

A mellow matured oil
dignified by a lovely dry down.

I worded it that way because we’ve all heard how Hindi oils have great dry downs, but that doesn’t hold true with every Hindi oil.
Hisan qualifies as a very good dry down.

The progressions in this oil happen at medium speed from start to finish, and it won’t last all day long, but I keep busy sniffing, not wanting to lose any aroma molecules. Yummy!

EO Borneo 3K v3

Nice to see Rasoul back on ouddict 🙂

Cheers buddy. B3k is nice. There is a crudeness to the opening note that puts me off but afterwards the rest of the evolution is smooth riding. The lasting power is admirable and true to kind malinau profile is on point. I have a feeling further aging will do this oil a lot of good

Been on a mission to finish my dozens of dozens older sample vials.

ASO layth came out to play. A balanced cambodi that works well with ASO signature of rose, leather amber.

agar aura ambrosia an aceh oil from sumatra was next. Piercing bitter zesty note. Terminal bitterness. If you like this look for his luong oil from koh chang and also suka cita. Latter is more creamsoda vanilla and cola nut but still has the same bitter zesty high pitched profile.

lastly finished the last of my port moresbey. Compared to a fresh sample, this oil is tiers but on its own that 0.1 or less I had left was quite awesome. A vaporous yet dense 50 shade of green oil with that static buzz/ high vibration of oils made from old sick awesome material. How I wish I had a full bottle of this and how I wish price was under $1k...

Tonight I am enjoying a swipe or two of Tigerwood Royale. Beautiful oud after a long day
I have a love and hate relationship with this oil lately. I love the old antique store vibe. The mahogany. Even an old taxidermy shop. The aged deer musk element found in oud ahmad. The unique Malay spice found in beast more in malek malayzi from ASO but then there is the old man smoker breath. That halitosis note is a buzz kill.

How do you find oud sultani?

Czar Ceylon. Surprisingly sweet. Has a stellar cooling/incense vibe for the opening. So bad with describing ouds, but I get a tad of anise and maybe some "old man's house" almost moth ball type note in the opening as well. Dancing florals like tuberose with a candy pine undertone. Top notes don't last very long. It settles pretty quick but lasts a good while.

EO Oud Yaqoub 2018

Opens with tropical fruits and nectar from flowers
with a touch oudy incense and minerals.

minimal progression but it does dry down to reveal it’s resinous feedstock

not fat jammy resin as in Oud Extraordinaire, but not super lean like an Agar Aura oil

at drydown it is more floral

the inherent aroma of the agarwood used does not have a knock-out profile, nor complex, but it is a pleasant Thai, and does showcase the grade of chips used in distillation

I value this oil for its no nonsense incense grade quality, and it is very welcome in my collection

for comparison, the profile is not a la Oud Yusuf,
if anything, it reminds me of the Thai component in Czar Ceylon and People’s Sultan

Old Rksons double super assam. I enjoy its richness

Mezaaj from ASO
This was my first purchase from this vendor.
The box smelled great when it arrived because one of the samples had broken. I won’t open the other samples as I have been cut a few times by this type of sample vial with the narrowing top.
This is a green smelling oil and I don’t really get the progression , kinda flat and just not what I expected. I have heard so many outstanding things on this site about this vendors product and the broken sample of hamms smelled nice and I wish I had bought a bottle of that. Mezaaj will sit on the shelf:-(

Oud Yaqoub
I have so many different smelling Thai oils from dried fruit to fresh fruits , sweet to sour,
Some a touch of barn and some really clean.
It’s hard to generalize oils as Thai for me.
This one is amazing and a great value
