No he doesn’t have any left.Yeah I saw he surprisingly still has some left... wondering if I should acquire a bottle...
MUSTAQBIL (ASO). I received this oil last week and have worn it most days since then. The unusual opening reminds me of Fajr (a kind of immortelle-citrus rind opening?), another organic oil from ASO, but Mustaqbil is smoother and more complex and that unusual opening yields pretty quickly to . . . I'm honestly having a most difficult (but delightful) time naming the notes. I reviewed ASO's description which suggests bamboo in the beginning (I concur), but thereafter I get a wonderful smooth kaleidoscope of . . . sunshine-warmed tree sap, sweetened ginger, gentle yellow flowers, melting amber resin, milky reeds, fresh oak leaves . . . these are soaring and rather bright notes, but the oil is very aromatically dense and longevity is all day. It really is like a complete perfume. No harsh or smoky notes, nothing off in any way. Is it oudy? Yes; but although I think of oudiness as a base accord, here it's higher up. I've thoroughly enjoyed exploring this oil, both in trying to "figure it out," and just simply the aesthetic experience of its fragrance. A very satisfying wear, and well worth the moderate price. Am really happy to have it, it is a genuinely new profile in my little collection and discovering this reminds me again why I love oud! Great work Jawed & co. at @Al Shareef Oudh!
I couldn't agree more. I wore this today as well. Aso told me this is a typical malinau profile although it's so much more novel a smell than any malinaus I've smelled before. It's more this sharp gingery green yellow opening with this undertone of Amber cinnamon. Almost like a vetivery thing going on - with some cedar. I love this too - but it's totally unique. Like no other ouds I've smelled.
Respected Dan, Taj's oils and Misk blend layering is my favourite nowadays.Mixed TajOud's Khudie (199) + Kyarazen's Al Ghaliyah 2019...
Left it for 10 days aside and swiped today ...
I couldn't have thought of something better .... what an impact the Assam Oud had on that Composition... used under 0.50ml each.... now tempted to make more of this....
