Al Kadrie by Al Shareef.
Been sampling some new ouds with a friend. This oud is not pretty at all but it is very satisfying. Minerally earth (almost salty!) mixed with coffee powder, mostly dry but with a moist edge. Earth that was smoked with dark incense made with labdanum, xanthorrhea and frankincense burnt on lava :Roflmao:
There is something slightly green beneath all these smoky, burnt red aspects that gives it a nice contrast.

I put on Kalakassi Aagaz for the evening and immediately took it right back off. I think I am done trying to enjoy this oil. I should have just picked up Manek II, which was a much better Kalakassi IMO. All due respect to Zak, but this one is not for me.

Evening reflection after long day of physical labor
Zero to fifty by JK@ Rising Phoenix
This oil is a beast
Crazy open with piercing almost sharp top note
That settles right down to display a few middle scents Of anise and clove with a flower waft or two then a dive into the deep deep oud !
Outstanding and a true display of technical knowledge and quality craftsmanship on an artist level.
This is deep study material not really a Free pass class type oil

Been on the fence to get this one. Hmm.

Tell me about the laos

I get a dark, scarlet red coloured profile. Has a small hint of barn that soon dies off. Not sure what else, I wasn't really paying attention to it during the day, y'know?

Today I am wearing Manek by Agarwood Assam. At first, it was a bit "meh"...just alright but 2.5 hours in and it's transformed into a beautifully smooth ...I can't actually put notes to it, but just smooth tranquility 🙂
