ASO Malek series ceeni again. This time a little dab on the wrist. And then put some Chinese senesis co2 on the upper arm to compare. The other day I thought - well they are kinda similar and I can't afford a bottle of ceeni so im sure they are the same enough.

Ehhhh wrong. Lol. Ceeni is a masterpiece. Seriously my favorite oil right now - maybe of all time so far. Sooo. Dannngg. Good.

That oil is so smooth! Definitely produced a profound reaction in me, and it is right at the top of my list.

When I smell stuff like this, I wonder what I’m missing amongst all the luxury ouds that have ben out there these last several years!

A little birdie told me this one was very pretty but also super thin like water and very light in it's duration. Do you have the same experience? I keep getting the sense all aa oils are very light in nature - is that generally pretty true?
They can be light and keep close to the skin. But I’ve long since let go notions of “strong oud” I look at the beauty instead. If I have to actually smell my wrist to get wafts of it so be it. I’ve not found many ouds to be incredibly powerful anyways so it’s not unusual to me

I have a list of powerful ouds you could try
Ensar oud:
Oud Royale #1, tigerwood Royale , oud ertugrul, kyaraLTD , oud Yusuf........so many more
Imperial oud:
super Hoi Ann, Royale Ceylon 2
Habzoud
Nasir, Mutahid, harba
LMK
Yasuke, gahara,, fu zang long
Al Hashimi
IBN Zamrak , kantz
ASO.......
Just to many to list..
I want to smell the oud!!!
I want all of my oud not just the top end! Most amazing oud only shows all its facets after unfolding over time. Monotone oils or top heavy fractions that are gone in an instant are great to a point and I wear these types too but... then I reach for something more. I haven’t tried enough of Taha’s oils and I’m going to try his 3 new ones . I can’t say they are all one way or another at this point and will have to try more . I love exploring and AA oils do smell great maybe some others will have the middle and base that I’m looking for.

Oud for me has always been a personal scent ... it's something I like to appreciate myself .... those sudden whiffs which hit u throughout the day...

Taha's oils does that job and it does so by giving u an oil which actually is a true representation of the wood it got distilled from ... I didnt find any issues with Bhamo honestly when it came to longevity it was with me thruout the day ....

Some of the oils might be thinner in texture but I have not seen any correlation with the texture of an oud and its strength or duration.
I don't find AA oils to be light in nature or top heavy as some claim. I find them to be as potent and long lasting as any others. Of course there are variations among AA oils.

I have quite a few of these, by powerful I mean in comparison to say a synthetic perfume. Hardly any are as potent. But then again I prefer the personal route like Dan has mentioned below, so I tend to take small swipes (helps preserve them as well by using a lot less at a time) probably the single strongest oud I have is FHI. I feel many can attest that this one is monstrous with projection and longevity. Most oud for me does last with me all day though, even if faintly so

Some on this list I don't view as super "strong". All great aroma though. Ones I might politely disagree with on purely defining as strong are - fzl (more kodo), ibn - awesome aroma but doesn't last long on my skin, and yusef (2nd version, never tried first)

^ i agree, on my skin also Nephew/sister/inlaw got swipe from me, it last really long and i dont find it light, yea the liquid is light 😀 but its so strong haha

Burma citron and Ejayb economy Lao. I’m telling you ... these are two birds-of-feather! I’ve smelled this tang in some of feel oud’s bio-thai oils as well. I couldn’t tell you anything about how they compare in “quality” or “value” so i am not casting aspersions if I am mentioning ouds of different price tiers in the same post . I can imagine many “levels of quality” within the scent profile I am detecting here. It’s one that I am not really drawn to but which has some very pleasant facets. I wish I could describe or coin an phrase for this particular strange note that unites these oils... this note is for my system a little cloying and I don’t find myself reaching for this style of oil as much as I used to.

EO Tiger Wood Royale

According my minimal Oud experience there are 3 types of Malay ouds

1. One with Musky, Old Attic dominant - Tigerwood Royale

2. Cola dominant - Zamarad, Kilantan

3. Green and Steely Purple dominant - Malaya, Cintaku

All have great olfactory experience.

But if I have to choose 1 category itll be the 3rd one. It's very very addictive to me.
