Today I am sampling a newly released Sri Lankan Oud oil from Oudbase called Suvan̆da forest.

Sri Lankan oils are a favourite of mine and this one doesn’t disappoint at all.

What you have here is a great example of the Sri Lankan profile.

It has that wonderful dense and woody quality with very little sweetness and an almost metallic/copper twist. It also has a blue almost aquatic vibe which many other Sri Lankan oils are well known for.

It’s very rich and as the smell develops on your skin different layers reveal themselves. At first there is a very slight sweetness but after a short time the wonderful aquatic Sri Lankan profile reveals itself to you , grabs you by the hand and takes you on a journey.

Good Sri Lankan oils are getting harder to come by , I think Rahel has struck gold with this one.
A great follow up to his well loved Silani Walla Patta oil MashaAllah.

Another winner, really enjoyed their sample set and I also enjoyed sharing my thoughts with you guys. [emoji120][emoji3590][emoji1303]

Today I would like to start the day with the older batch of ASAQ Kalakassi 80 years.
I don't know if the whole oil aged 80 years or just a small percentage of it (does anyone know more about it?)... in any case I like it.
I think their marketing team claims the oil was distilled from 80 yr old tree not aged 80yr old ... this is my understanding....
