Today I am wearing Thai P by Oud bass

Wow! This is the most oudy Thai Oud oil I’ve encountered until now in my journey.

You would be forgiven for thinking this was from another region, maybe Sri Lankan, if it wasn’t for that ever soo wonderful and familiar Thai profile slightly humming away in the background.

It has a depth that you won’t find in 99% of Thai oils. Beautiful, woody, tobacco Oudy goodness MashaAllah. It also develops well on my skin and takes you on a journey, I tend to find most Thai oud oils quite boring but NOT this one!

Incredibly resinous, thick, almost bitter with a very slight syrupy sweetness to balance it out and remind you it’s Thai.

If you aren’t a fan of the typical apricot sweetness overload found in most Thai oud oils then I strongly, strongly recommend this oil.

Walahi the most unique Thai oil I’ve tried soo far. A definite full bottle purchase for me in the future InshaAllah.
10\10 and for 220$ for 2.5 gram it’s a bloody steal!

Sumatera Gelang for the evening.

This one is really interesting. It's a Sumatran Malaccensis, but it smells like something I would expect from a Malay Hirta oil.

Its vaporous and slightly green, but with a heady, almost indolic floral aspect...kinda like a bouquet of lilies. Camphor is also noticeable.

It's got a slightly resinous depth to it from the get-go and surprisingly good projection. I'm sure there's more to it as the hours pass.

Not quite in my wheelhouse, but a very enjoyable oil nonetheless.

Update from yesterday...Sumatera Gelang ended up getting deeper, incensy, and Oudier

Went from a “great” oil to an “awesome” oil!

Waiting for this one to come out of the aging process . Waiting... when are the new oils coming Farid? I have tested the waters And am ready to dive in now🙂

Lol I don't know yet !
As you know one day I will wake up, swipe it and will feel today is the day.

I applied a fat swipe 5 min before answering it has already changed and I'm very confident it still can improve.

My swipe of the day is a new oil called Papua Archipelago by OudBase

This one is a really beautiful oil that remains true to the Papuan profile.

It has a fruity complexity which is dominated by ripe banana and mango, it is absolutely delicious. I couldn’t stop sniffing my arm today , got some weird looks in the supermarket . It also has that humid jungle like vibe that I get a lot from oils of that region.
The oil has that wonderful ethereal quality that I can’t really put into words. I’ve mentioned this before but many ouds from that region smell like they come from another galaxy in my opinion, almost like they are distilled partly from fruit candy rather than an infected tree.

Like most Papuan, Sumatran and Malaysian oils this is very friendly on the nose to newcomers but it also has more than enough going on for seasoned oud lovers to get their teeth stuck into.

Another great oil from Oudbase MashaAllah $250 for 2.5 grams of this is a brilliant price in my opinion.
