Hahaha there is so much already written about this one.hey
how is this oil? details plz 😀
Its the darndest thing - I just now found a sample vial labeled "sample A," and realized that it was one of the vials from the Blind Oud Test of Fall 2018. This vial had found its way into my instrument case, and still had about .1g left in it!
I can't resist the fun of blind sampling it again. It's a barny, chocolately, thick-sweet and brown-hued oud. I'm thinking Bangladeshi, perhaps Al Shareef.
UPDATE: I checked, it was ASO Hareem.
Must be Hareer as we haven't done a Hareem, would make an interesting name for a different type of fragrance
Ceylon No 1 .... wow!!Ceylon Royale 1 on left - very nice. Probably one of the finest oils I own. So pretty with loads of incense and creamy vanilla. Some oceanic notes too.
Then north papua gyrinops. An oldie from IO - has the spice and bite of some of those newer malays like yasuke but with the theme of a definitive green oud oil. Really cool and unique to me!
AH Kakaya. This one is wonderful . . . opens leathery and settles into a dark, resinous, creamy cola oud with hints of fruitiness that I love.
Ceylon No 1 .... wow!!
I always want to experience Taha's take on Walla Patta....

Oh .. my bad bro [emoji17]Think it's imperial oud ceyon Royale 1
Brother do ur mind me asking where in Dubai u got it and how much.Applied my ceylon oil I bought locally. After all exposure with Ouds I can vouch this is Srilankan done indian way of soaking. The opening is musky and strong (unlike barn of indian oud) here its alty and oceanic with a drydown close to some of the sinking srilankan I had burned. To me it was grab of the year, meantime I wish they applied a bit of technique like our vendors here, if so this would have nailed it as the wood used for this one was indeed a real good grade one.
Well said bro!Hahaha there is so much already written about this one.
For me this is a shape shifter between Vietnamese and Cambodi
But this is more Cambodi than Vietnamese
I dont capture any Kinamic notes though in this one.

I view sandalwood as I do oud, santal royal EO
not my tast nothing special but i am not a conoiseur of santal
I view sandalwood as I do oud,
which is......
there is no best,
just differences and preferences.
Although my criterion for both
is that they be pure![]()
