ASO - Marjaan. Lovely green vibe to this. This is described as 'unique' and I really see that, it's not a menthol green or even a foresty one but there's perhaps a vetiver nuance to it and it "pops". Very smooth and clean

one thing I've noticed is that my oud wearing is 99% late at night so I'm only ever really talking about the initial smell from a swipe, and rarely about the drydown as I did yeterday. I should change that.

And I'm hooked!

Got my 2g bottle of Tigerwood Royale today - super happy to have this in my modest collection. It's one of those oils thats truly no nonsense - with so much backbone that you actually DO smell it 6-8 hours later, and not just a faint pretty skin scent. It has that "staining" quality that lasts for days.

Grateful to get a small swipe sample of Tigerwood 1990 to compare. I'll do a side by side tomorrow but I put a healthy dab on tonight and phew! This one is VERY similar but also different in some really great ways. It has this rich malted whisky note, more allspice, black pepper, and rounded out leather and musk - a very interesting musk quality that's great! I think it would be somewhat redundant to have both if you are budgeting (in my case, I'd rather have 1 great example oil from each region before doubling up). Being that 1990 is more expensive, I think pound for pound I'd rather have royale, but if money was no object, I'd definitely get both. Wondering now if TW1995 is similar as well or categorically different in some way?

Next to arrive is LMK Gyrinops 0, and there you have it - I'm tapped out again for next month as well lol.

'Suvanda Forest', this one of the new releases from OudBase is gorgeous Sri Lankan oud from the start to end. OudBase magically captured the sun's bright overflowing energy in this bottle and it just makes me speechless. I could not keep myself from constantly sniffing my wrist whenever I apply this oil.

Suvanda Forest opens up with a dry sour oud smell that tingles my nose. this Sunday morning's warmth like bright yellow smell calms my nerves. with this unique sunlight-like smell, densely compact wood smell adds more wild forest vibe to it. as it progresses, this already beautiful oil goes beyond. it slowly changes into a green color that reminds me of drifting air on the jungle. I can't describe this sublime experience in words.

It smells strong and complex. and it lasts easily more than 6hours on my wrist but does not project much. this oil is one heck of an experience that blew my mind. phew! what a magnificent oud oil!

I have over applied by mistake.

It's really warm and their visocity has massively decreased, they're usually thick!

Sumatera gulang. Love this oil. Wish I had gotten a gram when it was available. I like that it's very unique. It has a powdery spice - red yellow tone but with a pink fizz in the opening. Smells like high grand omani frankincense in opening somewhat - at least I get that as one of the notes. Just a great solid oil. I think with some aging, it will firm up and last a bit longer on skin. Some of the more top heavy volitile notes - I see them converting into mature and dense mid and base notes with 2-3 years aging. Won't sleep on this kinda oil again if it pops up
