Lucky Oud

Assam Emerald
If a tangerine were green
and if it were infected by agarwood resin
and if it were a male flower with pollen
.......this oil often reminds me of the
proverbial “gently heated chip”,
and EO Oud Yusuf also.
No genie in the bottle tweaks,
nor generation 3 openings,
just a zesty floral, with an oudy bitter bite,
constantly emanating from the swipe,
and twisting your mind.

Lucky Oud Anokha
Same distillation style as Assam Emerald,
just incense grade with no frills,
so that emanating scent keeps going and going.
With Anokha, it’s floral-honey-tea-hay,
with a tiny dash of spice, reminds me of
Haflong oud.

Both oils are beautiful and very addicting.

Thankyou @ Oudamberlove for this wonderful review , Im very happy you enjoy both Assam & Anokha . so beautifully described , especially loved your take on AE , the Tangerine pollened floral zestiness .

Agar Aura Mahkota

This stuff is phenomenal. Clean for ages. I swiped one of my old friends with this one and he thought its an attar. That's how layered this is.
The notes he mentioned were Bitter Almond, Vanilla, Anise, Fennel, Peppery spiciness and of course high grade oud. He was totally bowled over with this one.

Zen Path from Grandawood. A CO2 Sinensis. Given there doesn't seem to be much variation in this genre, and I like it - I grabbed a bottle for AUD114. That equates to around US85 bucks for 3ml. I'm a happy camper 🙂 A nice linear sweet clean scent.

China sayang. Not so red like hainan 05, yet a very balanced oil. sweet leathery / banana skin heart. Was not a fan of this at first, but its grown on to me.

This might pair well with musk maceration if used in the correct amounts .

Going with a green Sri Lankan made from high grade chips ,
I know it’s hard to believe but this guys wife picks chips from old trees in the jungle and he makes some really amazing oil at his home , after age and conditioning his oils are the most complex and amazing Sri Lankan oils I have ever tried!
This one is from the source, I’ve seen the distillery and I’ve seen the chips and the oils just get better with age.
Most of you have probably tried this guys oils from other sellers who would have you think they made the oils.
Chips in Sri Lanka on the ground seem dirt cheap but getting them out is a struggle.

Aso Hindi whose name evades me. Had a Z in it. Dank Hindi oud, intense presence but dialed back on the heavy ferment notes. This is rich stuff... every Hindi from ASO has been an excellent specimen. Even as someone who rarely turns to Hindi oud, I see the integrity of these oils. Zuhayr is the name I think.

And I have be revisiting some samples of Thai oud from ejayb after taking a needed break from Thai oils. His "ck" and budget Thai are both really very interesting and worth a sample in my opinion. Each of those has something unique and reflect some pretty careful selection on ejayb's part I believe. I am glad to have samples...

EO Emerald Kinam whilst revisiting ‘Pulse’ Pink Floyd Live in Concert.

Both are truly unremarkable.
