EO Emerald Kinam whilst revisiting ‘Pulse’ Pink Floyd Live in Concert.

Both are truly unremarkable.

When was Emerald Kinam released? Or what is it just a private release?

Black Sumbawa by EO. I don't have much experience, but it doesn't seem to last long. I mean, it's still there if I smell my forearm, but not much otherwise. idk

Hahahaha!

It was intentional. It’s Kinam Emerald not Emerald Kinam, i see the misplacement of words now.

If you search you may find some reviews on the forums not sure of when it was released.

Ahhh
This is somewhat of a fallacy that oud lasts super long. Some does but most naturals in general don't last as long as synthetics. For me, most ours only really project for an hour ish.
Ahhhh. And there you have it. I believed this to be true. To be fair, they do smell a long time. But they don’t project very long. Nine or more hours later I can still smell the oud, but it’s close to the skin. I think After I tried the
Aroha Kyaku, I just thought they would all last and project that long. I have sooooo much to learn!

You can get good loooong lasting oud fragrance on fabric but not skin

Habzoud Oud Asad

I let this oil settle a couple of months before trying it,
and now it presents itself well.

It opens like a perfume mainly, a beautiful one slightly sweet, and if you twist my arm I’ll say I get some honey with a touch of blonde tobacco, but it sure is like a perfume.... well blended.....I struggle to identify notes or regions.
This goes on for a while till it starts to dry down, where some resin and oudiness appear, in a slightly bitter guise, and the Cambodi comes out, just tame fruity florals with more resin and oud. There’s also a little candy in the background, a very wonderful pretty scent (I’m amazed).
A little later, skin scent at this point, but then it reminds me of when I gently heated some Cambodi oudh yesterday.

Clean profile all the way.

Thai oil from LMK. Most multifaceted Thai oil I've come across. Everything I've sniffed from faridoux has been a cut above.

Bought a few things from the attar store last week been going through them since...

Mysore incense sticks:
Very similar to burning 1980s EO. Carries the classic Mysore fragrance. Steady Burns not over powering does well to work in the way incense sticks should. No synthetic notes. Very similar to burning on coal. Works well to loosen the mood - not in your face. Very calming/relaxing.

Hanain Incense
Pleasantly surprised gives a sweet oud kick instantly rather then traditional wood burning where you have to wait for the coal to cool down. Steady burn and mild fumigation but strong scent. Perfect for the office where you don’t want to smoke out the room and cause a panic but does well to send across that classic oud scent.

Purple Cambodi

Instant burst of chocolate when smelling from the bottle. and then you get whiffs of mint and berry. The age has transformed it into something very elegant which you don’t tend to find with recently distilled Cambodi - I can’t find any barn or animalic tones. With time on the skin there is a medley of different fruit. There is an element of fresh wet earth. Top quality oud with has aged beautifully. This is what you would wear to a special occasion such as wedding, anniversary rather then daily.

Cambodi tambaku

True to its name!. It’s much louder then expected. Almost has hints of ?Hind coming through. As it spends time on the skin the classic Cambodi starts to develop - sweet fruits. Actually prefer this over the purple but then Maybe because it’s more wearable. Could wear most days and make an impression to eastern and western audiences.

Double Cambodi Wood

Actually tried this earlier in the week. Very strong blast at first using coal (prefer the fumigation) which mellows out after ten mins into sweeter tones. Longevity is crazy; lasted for four days every time I walked into the room I could pick it up. Will be using this again tonight.

Dab of oudline ... Kalimantan region.

sweet waves of rich syrupy agarwood scent, old books layered with woody resinous tang... pretty nice. Got to see what they are holding in reserve at oudline some day. I know they sell plenty of mass market ouds but they have occasionally had some niiiice ouds in the past. I communicated directly with one of the owners and everything I was sampling was just interesting or engaging in some way. Wonder what the current state of things is??

In the past (I want to reiterate) that I purchased from this company by reaching out to somebody with some responsibility and asking if they had anything really nice that represented the quality that they could produce or procure. If you purchase from their website you have to be very clear to check or ask whether it is a pure oud or a blend. The last time I checked out their catalog something unique about it was that for each oil they indicated if it was pure agarwood, and for the agarwood blends they stated the percentage of agar wood versus other oils which seemed like a classy move.

Another source of two really interesting oils actually three or four now that I think about it that I've smelled recently is olefaktory. I got a sample of this budget Thai oil from ejayb and it just keeps messing with my head. The top note is not smelling like typical Thai at all (in a good sense...)

Other oud heads here would probably be able to tell you what region it smells like I'm drawing a blank. As the scent settles down it transitions to a more classic Thai scent but I have to keep going back to check out that top note. Something rugged, herbal, earthy maybe? Hard to come up with good adjectives. Smells like oud from other regions I smelled years ago... classic old oud notes right there in a budget Thai. It's interesting....
