Last 2 days I've been testing some unreleased Agar Aura oils

1. Malay Atique - traditional aged Malay not distilled by Taha. One from his vault.

2. Viet-Nan Special K - Viet-nan is on purpose since its from the Hainan jungle which stretches across Vietnam as well.

3. Malay Blue - distilled from Malay Ant Hole wood..

Will surely share my views on notes soon on them.

But first impression Viet-nan and Malay Blue are definitely the winners.

Also have 3 more oils to sample.

Sounds good! Wearing a swipe of Mahkota from a sample today. Really nice. Clean wintergreen like one of his Sik jungle oils but even clearer. A very fine oil. Really enjoyed all his latest bunches. Lao 4K and Pursat 4K both beautiful. Still love Suka Cita... strangely I think Kham Lao may be my favorite of the bunch! Never would’ve expected that!

Royal Myanma, still quite fresh of an oil, but the scent is really starting to shine through. The brain zap has always been present, although this is only my second wearing of this oud. I have had it for a while, patience has been key with one, seeing at it has been developing its scent since July

Sounds fantastic, looking forward to your experience and notes breakdown.
What are the samples?

Bhramaputra- Tabeer Oud

To my nose this is different to Kakochang. Kakochang focused on top notes and captured florals beautifully where as this captures florals but have that leathery and tea notes in the background.

Kakochang felt Borneo till about Dry Down this has the Hindi vibe in the Top notes itself.

Both clean distillation and apparently from the same batch of wood but different distillation style.

Just shows how good Umair is with his work. Glad I got 5g of this oil and 2.5g of Kakochang.

Akkad by Al Hashimi

This arrived today and I gave myself a little swipe after work. My first impression is that it’s exactly what I wanted. The other comments and reviews on here seem spot on (though it’s slightly prettier than I imagined from the descriptions, in a good way).

To also repeat what others have written, customer service and speed of delivery were truly first class. Ordered Sunday afternoon and it arrived Tuesday morning (Sweden - Italy).

ASO - Jannah; lovely Papuan oil which doesn't come over as purple smelling like others do. very clean and civil - it does have this denseness to it though

I've been wearing a few ouds lately but haven't bothered posting:

Habz - Altamsah, the Malay/Borneo. Not too fussed on this one, dunno, feels like the Borneo profile holds the Malay back
La Mainson Khenata - Gyrinops 1, again not keen - very musty, vegetal and just kinda weird.
LMK - Yasuke, fantastic Malay. Super strong

also I bought an oud from Mellifluence which is a wild Hainan oil. Has that nuttiness which reminds me of IO Fragrant Imperial Habour which was one of the first oils that I bought ....and grew to dislike and eventually sold. I didn't actually realise it was a Hainan oil - wouldn't have bought it otherwise. d'oh.
HOWEVER after 30mins or so it goes really gorgeous! So all's well there I suppose

Ensar - Assam Wilde. I remember thinking this was quite tame and not very Hindi like. I'm not accustomed to Hindis now as this came over very strong/barny to me. Wasn't bad though
IO - Assam Leather. Super strong, barny like crazy at the start but becomes lovely in its drydown

My bottle is on the way. I can’t wait to try this one!

Agar Aura - Blue Malay (unreleased)

Thanks to Almighty having experienced some gems from this region by EO, AA, ASO, Habz, Al Hashimi etc...

I thought how can another Malay oil be different to what I already have.

In comes my first experience with oil from Anthole wood.

Though there are notes which we can draw parallels with to other oils. But this oils as a whole is pretty addictive (being my second wear)

If I have to sum it up

Sweet, aquatic, seven up, petichor, cinnamon, hint of fruits, woody incense base.

Disclaimer: I'm little bias with Malay ouds [emoji7]

This Dark Green oil is

Nagaland Kalakassi - Dr Prasun Pramanik (very dear friend)

I spent more than a week with it.

Completely amazed how he bettered his first oil with this one.

This Hindi oud smells 100% Borneo with absolutely zero notes saying it's from India. May be the spice notes may remind u of a Hindi.

This year has been such an eye opener for me on Hindi Ouds [emoji7]

Missed it by a whisker

Been testing IO Yunnan Imperial

Really interesting fermentation notes in the opening. You’d almost think you’re smelling a straight up traditional Assamese oil but the intense barn opening starts to slowly give way to what smells like a Hainan oil. It gets a little leathery and I love that. The drydown is really smooth and almost creamy in a way with some nice terpy notes. Really interesting scent and one that I’m excited to get to know. It’s my first pure Oud offering from a resident vendor.
