Wearing Yunnan Imperial again from IO

Now that my nose has adjusted the initial animalism of the opening is much more enjoyable. I can pick up an undercurrent of bitter fruits and a sweet fruity/floral twang amongst strong musky qualities. This stuff is tenacious. Barely rationed half a swipe between my wrists and ears and I’ve been in a cloud of Oud all morning.

I imagine my wife will be really bummed out when she wakes up :Whistling::Whistling::Whistling::Whistling:

I love it man ..i take 2 grams and once was arrive and spend only 45 min with it ...i get back to brother Habib and take more [emoji1787][emoji1787]

Sotd and small review Aljanah by Habzoud
Guys from 2 days i m shoked...i see some other guys receive this oils and they was just "normal" 😛 ...stop it , stop right there, this oil easily if was sell by ensar or any "big guy" will be 1k without think 2 seconds, just amazing 30 out 10, everybody know my favorite hindi oils is Shah Jahan by IO and Hindustan by Taha...this oil is crazy clean hindi type open with green bitterness with etheral kinam vibe, full of manuka honey smell, open actually cloose to FHI lol, and all this goes to weird but incredible nice grapefruit ,actually like when you smash some grapefruit shell...floral , combo of woody leathery but again different than any normal oil, who try shah jahan know better what i try to say...SH was just a bit deeper and maybe last longer, but this is even better in terms of smell, and wow is fresh oil...when sisquturpines from base will be aged this oil will be no brainer
Brother Habib i salute you , im speechless i swear ,bravooo!!!!!
Jazakallah

Hahaha , ain't that some feeling when you just connect with an oil like that straight away!!

Al Hashimi - Siam Ⅱ

A budget oud oil($95 / 2.5ml). opens up with rum, prune, raisin, juniper berry, pine. there's an undercurrent oudy backbone.
the scent feels dry and intensely boozy. it has a 'purple' vibe.
Over time, it becomes vaporous and the piney aspect gets louder. transition is minimal without noticeable change.
performance-wise, projection is fairly weak and does not last more than 4 hours on my skin with a one fat toothpick swipe.

overall, good quality budget Thai oil that does not fit my preference.
I'd like to try more cultivate oud oils. ASO's oils(Halawa, Aseel) sound quite promising.

Edit
Hmm, I was wrong about the longevity. It lasts more than 7 hours. The base of this oils reminds me of a wet, moldy wood chest that has been sit in the basement for a while. Still think it's not my taste.

Manek II (2017, Agarwood Assam): Amongst all the full bottle Hindis I have, this is my most favourite. Lovely hay, honey, touch of barn, lemon/lime peel, smell of lemon (or it's peel) just before it goes off, crushed rose sepals and stocks, ambergris, wood planks (garjan, cedar, & hint of teak and may be a bit of mahogany), demure leather, one of the berries (red, black, or raspberries - can't remember which one), hint of green smoke (not oakmoss like, imagine a vegetal infused gentle one) with a soft resinous undercurrent. The lemon peel and green jamrul flavoured leathery dry down is very unique and pleasing. I haven't done a detailed breakdown of this beauty yet!

When I missed Manek I (2011), which was a bargain and still the bargain of the last 5-6 years, I was a bit peeved. So as soon as MII appeared, I immediately asked an oud-head to buy it for me as I was travelling. Later, another oudhead very kindly sent me a very generous amount of MI. I cannot thank those two enough!

Royal Kinam 2.0

Im so curious to know about this one. Is it all Kinam notes or do you get the strong Chinese profile as well?

also, I’m curious as to people’s favorite Hainan oils. Does anyone here buy the Yuzhi Oud for Chinese oils? I really love Ensar’s Hainan 05 and I’m interested in the Hainan Kinam if it ever comes back. I was lucky to try some of the Fragrant Harbor releases(wish I had some of those). Always looking for a good bitter Chinese oil.

Royal Kinam 2.0 is pretty kinam note heavy, but not all kinam focused. And my favorite Hainan oil is Hainan Ultima for sure

That's awesome. Hopefully, they'll release a Hainan at that level at some point again!

On a different note, I'm wearing Suriranka 2.0 today and loving it. Right when I think it's gone, it comes roaring back with a new darker clean incense stage.

IO has/had the killer Chinese/sinensis oils for sure.
