Caloric smoke,
but no ash and not acrid.
There’s a hint of camphor,
some spice, woodiness,
a green jungle in the background,
and a touch of tobacco tar.

It’s like the darkness of EO Maroke Muah,
the high temp cooking of FO Thai Spice,
and the incense of EO Sultan Mujeeb.
Agree with Castingshadows, that‘s an excellent description of an excellent oil. “Caloric” is just the right word for the first hour or so.
So glad I had a sample as I was really confused by it on first try. Might regret only getting 1.5ml.

Wearing Camasa from EO. This is an unreleased oil if I’m not mistaken. Absolutely wonderful.

It has an herbal tea element with a realistic juicy hookah style fruity tobacco note. It reminds a bit of Tia Sang by AA but with the berries and cream amped up to eleven.

IO Hainan Qinan

Flower buds glowing over a crisp bitterness
with rose stems and oudiness.
The bouquet is similar to smelling raw cultivated kinam chips.

I am experiencing a vibration/brain-reverberation, plus some sinus clearing.

I often feel that Kinam is not just another agarwood, and that it possesses something fundamentally different, that feeling follows with this oil likewise.

After a while, the bitterness upgrades to kinamic with a piercing effervescence.

It doesn’t smell like a young oil.

Further on... it becomes a little incensy,
and has a bit of a Laotian vibe.

Nice!

Wearing LuckyOud's Royal Kalakaasi

Clean, sweet mesmerizing oil.
Looking at the wood that went into the pot for this one, I thought that oil would be dark and thick. But, to my surprise it is honey like with slight golden hue.
Ethereal opening with sweet floral & fruity honey hued hay heart with resinous incense in the background.
A new note comes out each time I wear it. Honey, Marshmallow and sometime floral honeysuckle.
Very pleasing experience.

At first, I found this one to be quite linear. I feel like it is developing some depth as it is maturing.
I've been told Royal Kalakaasi II is in the making with even higher grade woods. Excited for that one.

Oud Altamash by Habzoud this morning.

Im so surprised by the scent progression of this one. It’s very serious and dark at first like a mixture of deep green vetiver, hay and a slight hint of Smokey incense.

As it progress I get an array of colors along the ultraviolet spectrum. Yellow florals, Aquamarine blues, fizzy pink cola followed by an explosion of berries and vanilla cream.

Theres a banana like note in here as well that I love.

I can’t wait to spend more time with this.

Now that it’s really into the far drydown the incense is coming back. I love the olfactory arch of this oil.

Malek ceeni! Had @Oudamberlove in my head about how samples need to be used before they oxidize and this one I've been saving for special occasions but figured I didn't want it to go bad!

Gosh man. This smells almost exactly like the aso floating mountain kyara incense. Very similar profile. Total kynam smell. Best oud I've ever smelled hands down. I'm a fan boy 😂

I just went and read the description this sounds like pure bliss.

The Malek Ceeni reminds me of this oil I got from magbifincense on eBay back in the old basenotes oud lovers days. Amazing stuff and I have been wondering what it was for about 15 years... smelled the Ceeni and it was all clear. Similar type of oud obviously wishing I'd bought all that eBay oud up. It was a deal and I still have a sample (diluted in alcohol to preserve)... this is truly well balanced oud!

Purple Kinam oil distilled from actual purple kinam - from a private collector.

How does it smell? Smells just like Nha Trang purple kinam wood ambient room temperature.

How do I know? I have multiple varieties of purple kinam wood.

What about Purple Kinam from EO? This oil is not kynam, it does not contain kynam, nor does it smell like kynam. It is however, a great malaysian distillation, but overpriced IMO.

Need more time with this oil to understand it more 🙂
