Unreleased aged royal green hijari co-distill with Indonesian Oud. This oil is nothing short of mastery, blows my mind when i smell this. The gentle smokey hojari mated with the Oud is a match made in heaven. One of the best blends i have smelt to date....
Assalamoalaikum brother Habib,
Is that your distillation/production?

I never see anyone mention grandawood... I have some cultivated oil samples from them and I have to say they are very very interesting. I have not been purchasing oils or samples widely so I've missed all of the sort of "rebirth micro distillations" that have been the buzz here for so much of the last few years. I got their sample set in the range of scents in that collection is pretty amazing. There are some samples that are warm sweet herbaceous and glowing, others that are denser, more fermented and earthy. Pretty amazing spectrum of fragrance and some pretty addictive oils that are hard to stop smelling once I apply a dab. I'm reluctant to tell you what my favorites are because From what I read here you are consume some pretty epic quantities of oud and I'm afraid you'll buy them all up by the time I use up my sample and finally screw up the determination to buy a bottle!

They smell, most of them, like young versions of real classic older oils that have popped up now and again over my 24 years of oud experience. If these age the way their current fragrance suggests they will, these will be absolutely killer oils in about five or 10 years.

one oil in that collection I have to get a bottle of. Once I do, I'll tell you which one. 😉

I guess I didn't talk about it much because they from my backyard. Doind really good work. I have to order the full sample set. If you want to tell me your impression of each oil, that will really help me. Masha Allah your experience is valuable and I take your opinion seriously.

Doing blind test.

Opens up with fruit(apricot and strawberry), floral(osmanthus), musk, powder. Borneo and Malaysian vibe.

~10m
Pacifying vanilla, mild honey spices kick in.

~ 20m
Refreshing greenness of Malaysian profile and spaciousness of ambergris.

~ 30m
The warmth of civet, Ceylon cinnamon, honey

~ 1h
Vanilla, savory nut, herbal leaves

~ 2h
The mellow sweetness of brown sugar. noticeable transition ends here and rest transition is minimal.

the transition of this oil is quite weird. the greenness and warmth keep comes back and forth just like two horses competing with each other.
to my nose, it's in the $300 ~ $450 range in terms of price. and I'm guessing it's high-quality Sabah oud.

overall, it's clean next-gen distillation Sabah oud with a vast range of notes. color-wise, I'd choose Light Olive or Dark Beige

I like it very much, a keeper for me.
I find similarities with some of the oils that I have. I want apply them side by side and share my olfactory experience.
Oud Yusuf Royale, opened up fruity, mild trace of lactic when concentrated on the skin. If you rub the oil, there is no lactic or cheesy note. Straight jumps into the Crassana Fruitiness. Sweet, juicy fruity. It's very easy to like this.

I have not had a chance to experience the initial release of Oud Yusuf so I do not have a reference for comparison.

If you are a person who likes fruity oil, you are in for a treat. I came across many people who do not like the Thai fruity or are bored of it, this one is not for them. Lasted on my skin for 4 hours and then was faint.

Well now here is the most interesting part. Once of my favorite Oud that I have come across is Oud Yaseen(2016) from house of Yaseen. When I wore the Oud Yusuf Royale, it strongly reminded me Oud Yaseen. I wanted until evening, to try them side by side.

A drop of Oud Yusuf Royale on the left and a drop of Oud Yaseen on the right. At the opening, you feel Oud Yusuf Royale is more rounded, aged and subtle. Thats when I felt Oud Yaseen is good, but Oud Yusuf Royal is significantly superior. 15 mins after, its hard to tell which one is Oud Yusuf Royale and which one is Oud Yaseen. Same. If I did a blind test, I would fail to differentiate one over the other.

1.5-2 hours past, Oud Yaseen starts smelling a bit woody and changes its form. Oud Yusuf Royale is still fruit and has not transformed to its dry down.

I was excited and was happy with my purchase of Oud Yusuf Royale, but the side by side comparison with Oud Yaseen was more existing and fun. Good experience studying them and comparing something so close to the Ensar's Oud Yusuf.

I was lucky and stocked my Oud Yaseen before it sold out. I know the new stock is coming soon, probably end of this month. If you enjoy fruity Thai Crassana oils, you will love Oud Yusuf Royale and Oud Yaseen both.

Oud Yusuf Royal is a keeper for me and I am satisfied with my purchase.

Great notes! Thanks got the in depth look at it!

OOTD: Jinkoh Store - Namxay
Since Jinkoh Store is a newcomer to the oud scene, some of you might be interested in my first impressions regarding Namxay.
Namxay is a clean, Agar Aura style distilled Gen3 Laos oud with a bitter, green scent profile which reminds me more of the Nha Trang region terroir, rather than the classical Pusong oud profile (by classical Pusong oud profile I mean AA Lao 4K for example, which I own too). I made a side by side comparison and the two oils are heading in different directions.
It might sound like an exaggeration, but it actually has some IO Nha Trang Ultima vibes to it, one of the most cherished oils of my collection.
This one is an unknown gem and it's definitely worth at least a sample because it smells more expensive than its price would suggest.
A great debut from Jinkoh Store, I'm definitely looking forward to future releases from this vendor!
