tell more about it :O
It's a nicely aged, traditionally distilled oil with a resinous sweet scent profile and an interesting medicinal/band-aid note. While I do respect the age and the quality of this oil, I feel that it's a bit overpriced for what it can offer. I'm glad to have it in my collection because it's 11 years older than me, but I miss the wow factor for $3.5K/bottle.

[Ouddict.com] Oud of the Day
Very satisfying and comforting, full top note with a complexity to the progression ending in a full base with no barn and a little mineral. I am happy with the results

As you should be. Rich pungent top and heart, nice bittersweet balsamic base. Again, reminds me of an oil "agarwoodindonesia" distilled at the start of his ventures. I may have mentioned his was from the Aceh region. Maybe it's not so much a matter of the wood as of the distillation method... who knows?

That is a huge compliment!!!
Muhammad T. Is a master distiller and one of my inspirations that has unselfishly shared his craft with other dreamers.
I encourage people to check him out and support his projects

Great guy, agreed eJayb. I'll send you a dab of his literal first distillation when I send you that wood. Getting on that...

Malaysian oil that I just finished settling but not done aging. I pulled a .25 sample to carry around with me.
Not for sale and won’t Be released
Absolutely stunning
Made from mid-grade wild chips and the distillation certainly made the chips shine a bit brighter then my expectations!
I am grateful

Absolute Blitz Today

Ahom Oud Jiri Jiri on Left and EO Oud Shuayb on right hand.
Utter indulgence to wear and compare these side by side. Today, Shuayb felt like sweet, 'pretty' oud in front of Jiri Jiri. The dry down for both is marvelous.
Both of these are really nice. I love having a good traditional oil laying around whenever I want to gauge just how barnyard something is. Oud Shauyb balances the fermentation and sweet/spicy tamarind notes really well.

Have you tried Yunnan Imperiale from IO at all? It’s pretty similar to Oud Shauyb and is really fun to do a side by side as well.
