Sampling Habz unreleased Aceh oil!

Wow. Another stunner. There’s no swampy, earthy notes, no petrichor, or any kind of wet woods vibe. This opens with a beautiful medicinal cherry cola note. Slowly a creamy purple floral creeps in with an ethereal sweetness. I’m excited to spend more time with these unreleased samples. This is very office friendly!

I received a sample of
Habzoud Oud Aljanah 2
with my recent order of
Sri Lanka Sinking chips.

It smells serious right from the stick,
so I’m waiting for the proper moment
to savor it.
Some oil did get on my fingertip,
so I wipe it onto my shirt,
and all the while at work,
I was getting wafts of oud that
reminded me of EO Assam 3000.

It’s pretty amazing right? I haven’t smelled Assam 3000 but it also shared similarities with the drydown of Nagaland 3000 aka this oil hits way above its weight.

Wearing EO Maroke Ceylon

I must admit that I jilted this one at the beginning. I just did not feel this whole co-distillation thing. Probably, because of my inability to discern regional profiles when I began exploring ouds. I guess it was deep-seated in my brain that co-distillations are generally a notch lower when compared to true to the region single region distillations.
My perception changed as I tried this one and various other Sultan series oils.
I would say, now I have a bit of an understanding about how emerald like walla oils could smell or how PNG oils exude that green jungle vibe and how they can be married together to create something that smells so different yet has nuances from both regions. This oil smells incredible. I feel like its a perfect incense character that the Sri Lankan profile needed in this case. You get best of both the worlds.
On top of everything, longevity is serious on this one. Loving it. And, it's on serious discount right about now.

Good summarization 🙂

I think I have a sample of this laying around, I'll revisit it today and see. I ended up selling my bottle of it since it was really similar to surianka senkoh, which also has great longevity.

Thanks. Mine was a sample too.
I have a bottle of Suriranka. Now, I think I should have done a side by side of this and Suriranka.
Let us know if you do a side by side comparison.

Sampled Habz’s unreleased Aceh oil again today.

The medicinal cherry cola meets purple floral opening is much more pronounced. This time around though I got a minty woody heart. The drydown is almost like pine resin meets creamy sweet Agarwood with notes of frankincense and black pepper.

I’m always impressed by the various vendors on here. Everyone seems to bring really high quality to the table.
