Pontiniak by Imperial Oud
Laos Oud by Tabeer Oud
Both are at least three years old, so both have ripe and mature scent profile. Pontiniak has a very loud birch tar-ish tone, but Indo Malay Oud nuances are strong as well. Laos Oud suits this early spring here. A nice strong Laotian Agarwood oil.

From The Tea Guru (on etsy) - a UK seller, I bought 7 oils randomly. I'm being a bit silly with money lately, to be honest.

2005 Wild Kalimatan - dark, a little smokey. Morphing now into a ...I dunno how to describe it. Rich and woody maybe, doesn't seem to do it justice. Not jumping out as 'oudy' as such but enjoyable!

2020 'Pahang Spirit' - really sweet and clean. Quite weak, I applied less than 20 minutes ago and am struggling to pick up on its scent, but the back of my hand is glistening with oil.

AlHindOud : Ck cultivated kinam
Wow!
I could just stop with that one word and feel content
We are so fortunate to have this distiller in our community guys.
I know how challenging the kinam distillation can be. The oil produced has a heavy fraction that wants to sink and flow back into the pot, it takes a long time to juice and the final water removal from the finished oil is a pain.
That being said this oil is really great smelling and is an exact match to the wood scent on low heat.
The top notes are extremely powerful and then it mellows into a smooth kinamic blast of bliss which last a good few hours.
Alhindoud vends some really nice oils but you really know the depth of this house’s knowledge comes from also personally distilling his very own oils right here in the good ol USA

Thanks brother! Means a lot 🙏. Really appreciate your advice and valuable lessons during the entire process. It was indeed a pain especially with the CK and the aftermath is more painful (cleaning the boiler 😅).

The pot being coated in resin and the spent wood being sticky with resin is prime for extraction during that cleanup process but it takes a proper rotary evaporator to remove all the excess extraction solvent or it will contaminate the resin extract and that is no good.

The Kalimatan picked up later on, becoming a deep oudy scent, Really good!

Another 2 by The Tea Guru today,

2022 Assam - non-barny new-gen style. Golden honeyed, a little sweet,
Meghalaya/Nagaland co-distill, same as above in scent profile tbh!

Am tempted to grab some wood from him, I am liking these oils 🙂

Oliver is cool, has decent products for sure. He's guru_aromatix for his woods/oils too. I've gotten some nice woods from him.

Nha Trang oil by Jungle Oud. An hour or so in, at first it's okay...but now with time it's getting a lot better - but I can't think how, exactly 😄. Colour profile? quite dark, a browny crimson maybe, I'm not getting "red" as such in the way of berries or dried fruits, but very smooth and quite tame. Compared to other Viet oils that I've tried which are just immediately awesome, sometimes "fizzy" then this is lacking, but the drydown is proving a nice ride.

On the other hand is some random unlabelled vial that was sitting loose outside my oils (I use these "lipstick holder"s for my oils). I think it's a Habz oil cause I'd rearranged them recently and guess I couldn't find an empty space for this one.
BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF top notes, super high, piercing, sharp awesomeness. Feels Malaysian/Sri Lankan. It may be the latest SL release from him, I'll have to try it ...or could be Ghazal. Hmm. The top notes have faded now and it's much quieter

Imperial Oud - Yunnan Vintage - a kinda dirty smell, but not in a barn-like manner...well, maybe - a little. Colour wise I'd say a very yellow oil, which is actually the colour of the oil itself, but it smells that way too. Colour/scent association is pretty strange but I always see oud oils in this manner - and it's not a case of "whatever colour the oil is, is how it'll smell".

HabzOud - Qamar (Burmese) - a smooth, and pretty quiet oil. A very small amount of barn here but it's coming over as yellow/brown in colour with some sharpness up top. Smells sinensis(ish)? It has a mild sweetness to it too.

There may be a slight overlap in these 2 oils' profiles.
