This heater looks pretty. Is it good for small chips only or does it heat wood pieces as well ?
I have the same one. It has a small ceramic surface like the kyara heaters so you wont be able to put chunks on it. Tempreature wise it goes high enough to let the wood start smoking if you cut/break small pieces and put them

New heater (which is WONDERFUL btw for kyara AND agarwood) came today, and mesOUD's amazing set of samples that I am gonna try the Malaysian sinensis one first today 😀.

Do you use a mica plate on it ?

You can put small slices of 0.1-0.15g chunks on it 100%, as long as it fits the heater, I put a 0.1g chip of the Malaysian Kangiiten wood and another smaller chip, and it sung at around 180-220c the most, but aroma started at 120c (same with the plum blossoms kyara), but I am guessing you could get more aroma with plum blossoms at 100c if you put more of the kyara on it, but why do that? Lol. Also, my Snow White Beach will most likely be singing at 80-100c, maybe even 60c as that is very sensitive.

Personally I have tested certain fushigi oils and I know the oriscent oils from 2005/2010 well and the oriscent oils are far superior.

I read on the forum that Oriscent's Kyara Kountan was identical to Fushigi's Hainan, which is not true in my humble opinion.
The kyara kountan was much deeper and stronger.
When it dried, it left a wonderful smell that you don't find in fushigi.

Second, most fushigi oils have been distilled recently unlike older oriscent oils.

Then if you're talking about the new cheap ensar oils, maybe I don't know them.

But when we see the royal kinam, kyara ltd, Bornéo sheikh and all these oils which have made the reputation of Ensar we really cannot say that the fushigi oils arrive at this level and from very far behind.

However, these remain beautiful Taiwanese type oils and for what is on the market these days it is rare to have this quality.

Wa Llah a'lem
just wanted to chime in since I believe you are referring to my post...I didn't say kyara koutan I said royal kinam 2.0 🙂

Having owned RK2.0 among most of if not all of the kyara/kynam oils from Oriscent is how/why I am having this opinion.

Also most of the Fushigi oils are from 2009-2012 as far as I can tell, the only recent one is Men tien kyara which was from 2020.

That being said - I agree with you in that so many of the oriscents of old are indeed superior to most of the Fushigi, no question or doubt about that at all. The woods they used in some of those old distillations must have been on another level altogether.

Pinoy LTD, OR2, white kinam, kyara LTD, the list goes on - these oils truly stand in a category of their own 🙂

I don't know if I read it in one of your messages or another, but in any case I apologize if I misunderstood.

On the other hand, the fushigi oils are mostly from 2015 only two are from 2009 but I think we can all agree that they are beautiful oils in all cases.

Good evening to you.
