I have looked at the website a bunch of times but I simply couldn't consider any of them so I never looked that hard. Today's extra discount however pushed them even lower and I'd be a fool for letting something go. Now, the tricky bit will be to actually use it and not let it gather dust.
I actually use my oud oils, as I’m distancing myself from alcohol-based perfumes.

I admit, though, that the higher-priced ones tend to be put “on a pedestal” or vaulted … so, I use the others more. (I’m such an idiot. Lol.)

Isn't this always the case with higher priced oils? At least I find that to be the case for myself. I need to make pact with myself to use my more expensive bottles, at least more regularly than I currently do!

Also need to cement the mentality that, to love an oil is to appreciate it, not letting it collect dust. That's not love, that's just forgetting about something, love is all about enjoying, experiencing and remembering often. And showing off those empty bottles with pride! :fist:

Coming from Scentient Nature, Switzerland: samples of first fraction rose oil, some sandalwood oils, ouds, frankincense and an unusual citrus. Ouddict @Adweeya Mufriha is the man behind this brand! I see the package is in my state so I imagine it will be here pretty soon. 🙂 that first fraction rose oil is a "bucket list" item for me!

Glad it is almost there !

I hope all will reach you smoothly and am really looking forward to hearing about your impressions and experiences on occasion.

My huge second installment of my @Al Hashimi discount sale arrives today. The merchant was EXTREMELY generous with me regarding a bunch of logistical / payment issues, and his grace says a lot about this entire community. Stay tuned...
You must be excited! Look forward to hearing some of your thoughts

It's nice to hear that he puts care into more than just his work!

Besides getting my non-rosey Edward Rose, I also received something from @Al Hashimi . I got Koh Kong and, as a gift, Trat Sultan. both are beautiful. They pack a powerful punch. it's obvious from trying both of them that he takes care and puts quality into his work; it’s greatly appreciated.

Feel free to direct me to any offerings before the sale ends!

Joe

Curious what you think about koh kong after a wear or two.

Impressions on Oud Royale. Honestly, words fail...
I just touched the inside of the cap with my pinky and then to my neck and I feel like I'm floating in a gold / purple cloud.
I wish I could afford to have this be my "daily driver" - maybe if the lottery tickets come in, some day.... but even then, scarcity is a word redefined to asymptotic limits, in this world we all share. I will say this: STILL I sense that @Faizal_p Malay Ultimé gives this a solid run for the running in making me feel, well... royal. Meanwhile I have a small bit of OR previously acquired from Scent Legends and my plan is to use that my supply and pretend I don't know this bottle exists.
Gentleman (and ladies?): I had no idea this world existed even 6 months ago, thank you for welcoming me as a (deeply bit by the "bug") newbie. Any weddings, anniversaries y'all invite me to, I'll have a purple cloud behind me.

What a great and epic oil. It is a top old school oil. Congrats

I’ve always had two controversial thoughts about it:

- as incredible as it is, I think it’s benefitted from being the first SQ oil publicly available and advertised for a long time. If purple Malay, royal Malay, badshah, Burmi 79 etc were the first SQ oil to be released they would get the same attention and price point (although other vendors have sold Oud Royale for far less than EO)

- the idea that it is a Maroke oil and distilled in 1982 is to my limited understanding conjecture. Personally I think there’s Malaysian wood involved here. When you smell Oud Sultani, Tigerwood royale, Al Diwan (from Hashimi), aged Malaysians from Al Shareef, and the other SQ oils mentioned above, it is my personal opinion that there’s old school Malaysian in Oud Royale. Ultimately no one knows.

It’s a great oil and I personally enjoy old school traditional oils more than new aged distillations, regardless if it’s from a sultan or wizard or whatever (don’t really care for the story or exclusivity). These old aged oils smell very special.
