Royal Sri Pada - Jinkoh Store
I swiped a tiny bit on my knuckle and started eating an amazing tropical honey salad. It smells amazingly yellow but not overly sweet, ethereal, and it's addictive!
Smells, almost exactly like Marius described it, but it's a fairly faint smell. I think it's a personal enjoyment oil.

Royal Ceylon - Jinkoh store
On my right hand, it's also as Marius described. I smelled it first and thought what it smells like then read Marius description. It opens with a green tea and fruity green mango scent. In the background you smell the leathery nuances and its way louder than Royal Sri Pada. It develops a slightly salty aspect and I like this one too.

I prefered the pure yellow orange opening of Sri Pada over the green opening of Ceylon, but going to the heart notes and drydown, I prefer the ceylon as it keep shining in different directions.

Enjoying two oils from AlHind: the blind test sample and kinam Hindi.

The blind test specimen smells a bit like whiskey, or some kind of aged spirits at first - quite striking. I put on a much bigger swipe this time. Figured the hell with it. What am I waiting for? At first it almost stings the nose. Then it starts smells like something that I can’t think of a way to describe. And after a few minutes or so starts to resemble an oil I got from Magnifincense in 2002 (seller on eBay Singapore) who had a couple of niiiice oils that would be right at the top of the hill, based on my experiences, collection and samples. It was sold as Dark Malaysian and shared that dark roast espresso aspect

I can absolutely see why the other oil is called kinam Hindi. The initial notes on the application did bring the smell of cultivated kinam shavings to mind. I didn’t know what a Hindi oil could be this smooth - never would’ve guessed it was a Hindi oil, but I haven’t experienced many of the no soak oils from that region

Al-Hind Oud: Cultivated Kinam

A balanced piercing menthol, medicinal (antiseptic character), mentholic-blue flowers playing hide and seek behind the curtains of the cooling medicinal character. There is a powdery aspect to it as well. Wearing this reminds me of an oud I've tried before from Tarakan.

I’ve decided I just absolutely love oils which smell of old furniture and varnish.
I wanted to add that I did absolutely get that old varnish smell from 2 other JK oils. That I am puzzling over. Since it's a new smell for me that I am conflicted about. The 4 Emperors.. and I believe it was the Attek Mokochung, not sure on the later. The 4 Emperors had a very powerful varnish to me. Almost like a varnish essential oil. That said I need to revisit it because my lungs hurt today so I didn't give it a chance to really breathe. But I thought to myself this might be a good one for blending to see if I can get closer to that antique furniture oud that I've been chasing... I wish someone would expand on this varnish scent that is new to me.

Oriscent Yu Nan
Quite different from other chinese oils from oriscent, which are characterized by their red bitterness, especially the Hainan oils with their zesty orange profile. Yu Nan is definitely still very medicinal, but has more of a blue/purple tea quality. Milky, sweet, smooth...Maybe the most "delicious" oriscent oil.

This one is really good 👍🏻

AlHind oud cultivated kinam oil today. I applied a small swipe on the back of my hand. Interesting stuff and I’m glad I got to smell it.

This oil is very soft and gentle in its top notes, and the smell does remind me of the smell of unheated ck shavings and chips.

I was surprised at how soft the opening was, annd enjoyed it for a while, but then sort of forgot about it, and went about my day. This is not an oil that really continues to grab your attention at least at the dose I applied.

As I said, I forgot about it, and about an hour ago noticed some surprise wafts of kinam coming from somewhere…

Took me a little while to figure it out…
There was a delightful, fresh, airy presence with the classic kinam sweetness. It’s very weak at this point but the smell is more akin to the heated kinam wood note and has less of the raw shavings smell. I imagine if I had put on a full swipe it would have been even better.

One interesting thing is how different this oil is from the other one I have. clearly different extraction techniques or different cultivar of wood involved. I treasure both of my ck oils - I think it will be interesting to see how they age

Grand Emperor Koh Kong - Jinkoh Store
What an Oil! Starts with an earthy, piercing, dry and metallic scent. Its a brown dark reddish cloud. This is a very serious oil, smells like a Businessman or a Boss. Later the red scent dominates more and it gets slightly sweet berry like with a smokey background.
A sunny dry day in the Jungles of Koh Kong!

The Oud Lab - Koh Shin. An unreleased sample AT kindly sent me.
Resinous Oud bubbling on the heater, jungle camphor, red berries / dates, floral, rounded sweetness, dark but not smoky.
Smells like it’s from the Malay Peninsula, I was surprised to hear that it’s Southern Thai.

Every oil I’ve smelt from TOL has been brilliant, AT has a great nose.
