EMW 2022 - Rising Phoenix.
A co distillation of various Malaysian woods, absolutely stunning profile, I’m curious if anyone else has sampled this one? Really happy I purchased 1 gram.
Minty, purple floral tones, the rounded sweetness of plums / dates & a realistic maraschino cherry note. Dark, yet clean Oud resin dry down.
Highly recommended.

Agar Aura Myitkyina 4K
Ensar Oud Guallam Kilam

GK is such a beautiful Viet oil that doesn't get talked about much. It has such a beautiful profile. Very sawdusty, powdery, and vanillic. A tinge of green bitterness, but sawdusty vanillic at the core. Incredibly soothing oil.
Myitkyina 4K is just an amazing oil overall. Very complex and constantly changing.
Sounds live Myitkyina 4K v.1 then. v.2 is also beautiful, but doesn't shift nearly as much.

Sounds tantalizing

Fragrant Harbour from The Attar Store. This reminds me of getting off the plane in a tropical country, a strong blast of water, humus and waxy plants instantly invigorates and calms. And the feeling just keeps going. Initially it is green/brown, but energetic and vibrational. This vibration gives way to more watery and blue notes, and things keep getting brighter until the light is superceded by wafts of dark resinated wood, at room temperature.

Humid tropical air, waxy vegetation, blue notes & bright light is an intriguing description! I’ve heard only good things about this oil.

Nothing for a while, oud's just fading on me; or, my sense of smell has gone kaput. I swipe stuff on and within an hour I can't perceive it, so I'm taking a break. I've "worn" many oils since last week but can't comment on them. Very frustrating
If my mood or health is off, my perception of scent & taste can be altered, it’s definitely frustrating & one of the worst side effects. I usually detox from everything fragrant until I feel better.

Some of my favourite Oud oils are ephemeral in nature, like most natural perfume materials, it goes with the territory. Oud oils that perform all day on me are usually only traditional Hindi’s, or Thaqeel like Cambodi’s.

Love this oil.

Great description.

But I don’t know about the humus. You sure you’re not hungry?

Hirta tigerwood from maunamoku
Has a Thai vibe with a fuel type top note
Interesting
Great performance as I hear everyone talking about the summer heat affecting the oud experience, I woke up on my farm today with the temp up here in the mountains being less then 40 with my daytime high today being around 60 . Cold in Northern California with very low humidity this week . I’m glad it never gets really hot here , never more than a few days near 100 but rarely over that and usually holds around 85 all summer.

Malay from Yusa Aromatics. This is a green, lean and clean oil. I find some Malays very waxy and ferny but this is not like that. It's aquatic and minty, rounded with a slight plumpness from age, yet with minimal dark/woody notes. I feel a yellow energy at its core surrounded by greenness. There is a nice cooling effect which is perfect for summer.
