Needed to swipe some TK after reading this… it’s awesome stuff! But I’m curious what type of oil DOES give you immense joy if this one isn’t doing it for you anymore 😮
😅 well I'd say quality oils generally smells great but I need to be in the right conditions(physically, psychologically) to listen their scents.

SOTD, Oud Yaaseen from Yaaseen.
this came as a sample for purchasing Plumeria Grande, which I'll talk about later.

I was curious of this oud oil for quite some time as I've seen this used in many of Mellifluence's attars as a base note.
yes, it is a Thai plantation oil but how surpringly pleasant smelling this one is!

I get lots of apricot, plum, cherry, magnolia from the opening.
it's very easy on the nose and addictive.
a little after, I get ceder-ish woody scent as well.

what a lovely oil.

along with RBO's Khao Kho, this one hits my Thai oud sweetspot.

Vietnamese appreciation Day!

From now on, think Kedah and Perak! 😁
Happy swiping. Enjoy.
Will do! Thailand is a region that I don’t enjoy very often, but it seems the woods / oils from the Southern part are much more to my liking.
Does Lao Xiang & Lao Shan come from a similar area? Lao Xiang is probably the best Thai oil I’ve ever smelt.

Encens d'Angkor by Ensar Oud

Lovely budget oil that is a bit of a tease as it reminds me of the old world Cambodians of yesteryear that I miss so much. Need to stock up on Koh Kong asap إن شاء الله as it may just be my favourite region!
If you don’t mind me asking, what are your favourite Koh Kong oils?

Great nose as always.

Yup. South indeed. To be honest, there might have been some percentage of wild "Malay" woods in those batches, but as the distiller resides in what's known as Thailand, I chose to be on the safe side and just say Thai. Nose knows best I guess 👍🏼

The profiles for both Lao Shan and Lao Xiang is nothing that I've stumbled upon in any Thai oil to date.
Appreciate your feedback 🙏🏼

Taha’s royal malaya
After probably a year of forgetting about my 0.7 stash, tried this beast today. One of the rarer agar aura oils that has improved tremendously over the months/years and filled the gaps and gained depth. A mash up of that purple gourmand note in hulubalang, plus the citrusy cola note of ayu and the purple florals of malaya. But more depth and breadth. This is delicious stuff and potent as hell
