Man
U dont know what i am living from yesterday,if you check my oud names, this the only one that i gave a special one’s name.
İ applied to myself to childiren even to cat, smelling like k9,also i asked to someone whom are fan of this oud said etc etc
Man i am obssed about oils dont make this kind of jokes jokes
😂

Yesterday, I applied it in the morning, then wrote that post and went about my day. I was out and about and came home in the evening... and noticed a wonderful smell from my wrist. I checked closer and realized it is the Oud Said drydown.

I think I must not have been paying close enough attention at first because it was still present almost 12 hours later 🙂

Really a wonderful scent.
Thanks dor getring a tension on me 😂

Burmi 79 from Ensar Oud

Jame shared a small sample of this with me.

Very classic smooth traditional Arab style of oud. This is the type of scent I think of when I imagine oud.. Very nice just wish I had some more lol

RPP TAO 1: A very pleasant, fresh, and airy oil. Clean aquatic and mineral notes, and very unique. The aquatic notes are different from the aquatic notes of a Sri Lankan or Fili oil. A very uplifting scent for me, like a portable trip to the beach. It’s also the only oil I’ve ever seen from Timor, pretty cool.

EO Kelantan: I really like this one so far. To me it smells like the purified quintessence of the oriscent line. The top notes fade quite quickly and the base notes pretty much do all of the heavy lifting. It stays in its prime for many hours and the whole time I have trouble keeping my nose from my wrist. The closest thing I’ve smelled is the dry down of Kyara Ketone.

I can easily recommend both of these.

I dragged out the old “sweet trat” from pureoudh. Every time I open this up it climbs up a notch in my estimation. It’s turning out to be a really nice crassna and the funk has toned down a fair amount. I found the funk a bit distracting at first and I felt justified its low price at the time. In retrospect of course this is another oneI wish I had picked up a few more bottles of because I think it was about $69-70 per quarter tola.

If I apply a little bit of it on my collar I get these delicious sweet bright and ethereal notes for hours afterwards that remind me of Vietnamese oud, sweeter sinensis extracts, cultivated kinam. The oil itself does not smell like these… smelled straight it’s still a fruity crassna with signs of a bit more aggressive soak than was maybe called for - but the little wafts and indirect hints of scent are just what I’m looking for.

Kam Kyoryo from Ensar Oud

Very different from my previous experiences with Oud oils. To my knowledge I have never had a Cambodian oil. Not the biggest fan of the opening but really enjoy the scent once it dries down a bit. Getting a wet rainforest woody smell and a Smokey/peppery note. Thanks Jame for sharing this with me along with many other scents I’m excited to try
The initial sweet n sour fermented phrase might be too harsh for some, but the darker side of this cambodi makes it special

In regard to scent profiles, Malaysia is the most diverse within the oud producing regions. While the inherent scent of Malaysian Malaccensis links most oils, they often go in many different directions.
I’ve been wearing my favourite Malaysian oils this week & admire how each of them differ so significantly.

Al Malek Al Maliyzi - Al Shareef Oudh. A sublime oil, dark yet pristine in the top notes; jungle, menthol / camphor, white floral, tonnes of deep oud resin in the base; date / tamarind / plummy nuances. It’s smells regal & dignified.

Hutan Hijau - The Oud Lab. Explosive terpenes right off the top, green apple, hints of Sinensis, mossy / earthy, tropical flowers. Becomes sweeter & more resinous the longer it develops on skin. Truely amazing.

EMW 2022 - Rising Phoenix Perfumery. Minty, floral, the rounded sweetness of grape syrup, red berries, plums. A divine & very pronounced maraschino cherry note. Purple! Dark, yet clean incensey oud resin dry down. Artistically unique.

Tigerwood Royal - Ensar Oud. Very dark & brooding yet also camphorated & lively. A touch of fermentation in the top note. Musky, indolic white floral. Deep red aroma. Woody & green mossy with the balsamic sweetness of Malaccensis resin rounding off the sharp edges. Royale by name & nature.

The way I see it, Malaysian oils are the perfect marriage of the green, minty, jungle notes often associated with Indonesia, Borneo & PNG. The sensual / sweet fruits & florals of Cambodia & Thailand. And the deep Oudy resinous core of India & Bangladesh (without the barn). It has the best of all worlds.
I second your point, malaysian oud oil is really unique and the cola vibe

Saturday night relaxation - a piece of Fili Fu Sen from The Oud Lab on the heater, this wood is wonderful, hence why I keep mentioning it.
I’m a sucker for sweet agarwood profiles & this red soil Fili smells like chocolate / caramel / sweet cooking spices with a very Oudy resinous core. The bottom note is a dance between dark Oud resin, candy, anise & vanilla. It boggles the mind how most people in the west can’t appreciate such beauty. The room smells like heaven.

Oud oil of the night is - Al Ruba’ie II by Al Shareef Oudh. It’s a distillation of Hindi, Chinese, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Borneo woods all enhanced by 5% Kyara oil. As much as I love single origin oils due to the snapshot of an environmental terroir, oils like Al Ruba’ie II offer a complete experience akin to wearing a perfume.
All the different oils come together cohesively, while also offering a separation of the various profiles.
I perceive it predominantly as a Hindi forward oil with decadent chocolate notes, boozy tobacco, labdanum, barn, dry fruits & sun-baked hay. Medicinal herbs & honey from the Chinese. Golden vanillic / minty / Santal of the Borneo. Red fruits, cherry, flowers from the Vietnamese & the dark green mossy jungle camphor from the Malaysian. The Kyara unifies these accords in an understated & subtle effect.
A very complex structure that flex’s the skill of the artisan,

Luxurious oud perfection, an olfactory work of art.

I am typing this on my phone as my computer won't turn on and hasn't done for 2 weeks. I despise typing on my phone, always make a ton of typos and find it super annoying to edit the mistakes so this is my heads up .
I've worn a lot since I last posted here 2 weeks ago but being on my phone isn't conductive to writing well. Not that i do, anyway ...

I received @EJayB 's new Sri Lanka oil. What a stunner! My benchmark Walla oil is Ceylone Royale by Imperial Oud and unfortunately this didn't strike me to be the same caliber until maybe 30minsnafter application . It's a bit 'rough' at the start but I can't think how to desceibe what I mean by that. - I'm fact, it was very similar to another oil that I couldn't place. But then I remembered -a wqllq oil that I got from @Ulugbek Abdumominov . Both that oil and Ed's give way to this ethereal blue note that I get when hearing high quality Sri Lanka wood and is potentially my favourite smell ever. The IO takes about 2hrs to get there, but has more finesse to thwy note, and is more appealing in the journey overall.
Ed also sent a sample of Thai berry V2 which is fantastic ! Both of these oils are very long lasting with what felt like a good scent projection.

Currently I am wearing "Asia wild" by feel oudnwhich I think is unreleased and was in a sample that Adam gotmsent out to me. This is. Fantastic.good performance on this too. But, where in Asia is it from? No idea, I'm actually struggling to pinpoint it. Perhaps it's a blend.
So there. Excuse all the typos and run on words .

So on my other hand is Trat roots by Feel Oud. Fantastic oil too - I'm not sure if I've ever tried an oil from roots, but this is very unlike what you probably rhink ofnwhwn yoi thunk of Ttat oils. Lacks the fruitiness and goes much deeper. Not in a dark resinous way that yous get with a malay oil but just ....oh, I dunno . It's good, okay? Too frustrating to type tbh

Jinkoh Store Cambodi Essenza
Jinkoh Store Pursat Qi
Jinkoh Store Grand Emperor Pursat

Funny thing, Cambodi Essenza shares some strong similarities with EO Bhutan Red, especially in the opening, sans the leather and hay.
What's your application strategy here?

Do you put them all on different spots on your body? Or do you apply them sequentially throughout the day?

A while ago I had just a small sample of Pursat Qi and it’s really wonderful. I wish I had more of it.

Jiribam Incenze - Rising Phoenix Perfumery

The opening is massive on this. Some very light barnyard and charred wood. Spice, vanilla, cherry liqueur. Hot fudge. First time I ever smelled this I got a big whiff of leather but I’m not really getting that today.

Over time the sweetness and creaminess grows. There is a burnt caramel note in there and some conifer pokes its head out every so often over a creamy, chocolatey base. The incense notes persist all the way to the drydown. I find on all of these distillations where JK is aiming to capture incense/smokey notes that there is a core of tightly bound florals and spice that exist within that incense smell. In this oil, it persists until the last stages of the drydown.
On my first wear I got some horse hair notes as the oil started its dry-down but I’m not getting that so much today… today I see that the barnyard notes are actually really subtle in this one.

I’m always fascinated how I can get something new and sometimes downright different out of an oil each time I wear it. It’s reminding me how important it is to give them multiple wears and experience the full dry-down as opposed to just sniffing from the vial or trying them once.
