Tripura from MesOud. A very nice Hindi! Refined, clean - no barn or funk. A red coloured oil, and that comes across in its scent, too. The colour of the oil matches the aroma! I've had this on for a while now, and it's very smooth. Getting perhaps a tiny bit of leather and hay, but lacks this "golden" feel that I prescribe to "new-gen" type oils. Not a very helpful description, I suppose! It's more velvety in texture than a rough leather I guess?

I haven’t been wearing Oud or perfume during the last couple of weeks.
I was going through a particularly stressful period & I dislike creating negative scent memories, which happened to me in the past occasionally. There are some perfumes I can’t wear now because they evoke painful emotions.

Now that I’m feeling better I wore ‘EMW 2022’ by Rising Phoenix. It’s a shame that it doesn’t get much discussion here because it’s one of the finest Malaysian oils I own.
Minty, green & camphorated. Dark incensey Malaysian oud resin core. Berries / plums, purple grape syrup, Crassna like sweetness, floral. There’s also this very unique maraschino Cherry note that’s so vivid it makes me want to taste it!

I'm with ya, I tend to not wear or burn unless I'm in the right frame of mind. Just getting back to it this week.

I'm wearing OFG layered with a Sebang-Meroke from Suko Oud.

ha, I was gonna wear that oil today, but went with Kepi instead!

@mesOUD Tarakan Qadeem (2015) another very clean oil, a hint of lightly sweet cacao & coffee with creamy rich density. Anyone else try this?
yup, very good!
Today I am wearing EMW from Rising Phoenix. Interesting oil - I don't get a purple vibe from it, but after an hour it seemed like a Chinese-type of barn was poking through, when it had smelled very clean initially. That seems to have burned off now, several hours later. Delicious oil though, am enjoying the ride

I have a bottle in my pocket here. Very nice oil - small smudges on my forearm release wonderful waves of oudy fragrance. I have to check my consumption or I will run out too quickly.

Jinkoh Store Grand Emperor Tarakan
Jinkoh Store Malinau Qi

GET is an incredibly complex oil. Has such a wide spectrum of flavors. I feel it extends more horizontally than vertically. Very light smoke in the opening, some dusty vanilla powder, green facets, blueberries, peanuts, and a very deep brown wood aroma, that almost gives off a textural quality reminiscent of fine suede leather garments. Truly a perfume on its own.

Nha Trang ultima from IO again today. Been 5hours and it has shifted a couple times already. To make it more simple for people who may not have tried this, I see is a nha trang ltd without that oriscent gasoline-cocaine note that I am not too fond of so I am really digging this oil. It has interesting depth, violet notes and I am also getting an oleander flower note that I love! I have oleander all around my house entrance and before I realized the oleander aroma I was smelling a couple kinam notes in the air. This is very nice value oil for price here! Pretty stuff and potent

Could please describe the smell of oleander flower? We don't have it here.

bitter red sweet fragrance with hints of vanilla, talcum, and apricot. Here we call it bitter laurel bay leaves bush the flowers smell nice. It is a highly toxic plant but they do sell essential oils from it and supposedly the oil isn’t toxic.
Great description! It’s an introduced species here in Melbourne, but it grows everywhere; mostly white, light pink & dark pink, very rare to see the orange variety.
Vanillic, ambery, powdery….catching it in the air during the high heat of summer is beautiful.

There is a flowering shrub called Daphne odora that is in the same plant family as oud and has the most amazing balanced floral scent - quite unique. At times it seems to resemble some almost rosey notes I have experienced once or twice with really good green kyara.
