Craziest and purest distilled Hainan oil I have ever smelled PERIOD! Crystallized from the cold. Extremely potent Chinese herbs, honey and flowers. It opens with a very bitter cooling sage, thyme honey, ginseng with white sweet flowers, and a strong mind buzzing. The Hainan agarwoood dna is all over the place full throttle! The oil is how agarwood oil should be, loud, complex, woody and beautiful!

this is what i thought was the kinam co2 when i ordered it. turns out it is the distilled hainan and was a mstake in the conversation.

Where'd you get it from?

I’ve got to say my oud of the last three months has been that tarakan qadeem from mesoud. I have lots of wonderful oils, including stuff from the old oriscent days and all of that, but this is the only oud I have wanted to carry with me sinceI got it. covers everything I need in an oud oil.

Tigerwood Terengganu - The Attar Store

My honest first thoughts when I swiped were:

Oh, this is like a "Tigerwood Nha Trang LTD" and if EO sold this it would be $1,500+ a gram. He would lament and bemoan how this is truly a unique distillation and there is absolutely nothing else like it, lol.

While I wouldn't agree with that price, I would agree with that assessment. This is like a high end, Nha Trang LTD type representation of Malaysian Tigerwood.

I'll admit this is NOT one of my favorite regions. I tried all the Tigerwoods from EO and concluded they basically smell like a walk through my local Home Depot(hardware store).

Wood, mulch, dirt, earth, fertilizer, oil, and dust. Not necessarily my goto aromatic profile.

Tigerwood Terengganu has hints of those earthy, musky facets of Tigerwood, but with a much healthier baseline of classical Malaysian fruit, with the menthol-wintergreen-kynamic overtones of this style of distillation.

It's a bit of a shapeshifter, at moments Im wondering if it's a Vietnamese oil, then other moments it's clear it's a Tigerwood.

Well rounded, balanced, profile, no harsh edges or empty space.

Xiang Shui by Habz Oud
First, it is my Oud of the Year 2024.

I didn't find any logic to wait for the 30th December 2024 to declare so.

Caesar wrote "He came, he saw, and he conquered", and Xiang Shui engraved on every inch of my inner "Look, I have conquered".

Personified elegance, delicacy and divinity. Sea rocks, island, marine life, antique handwritten manuscripts placed on/in mahagony bookshelves. This is the fragrance that softly whispers and that whisper keeps echoing forever. Ocean at night, when it is full Moon, and there is a scent in the air that casts its spell.

A little dry cardboard trail I sensed, but it vanished in a minute or so, and then it unveiled its mystery. I would surely oxidize it to have rather heavy top notes.

I think this oil has Zero Viscosity. Swipe and it would get absorbed instantly, and then wrist, nose, inhalation, and silence!

Tipu Sultan by Habz oud
as a hindi oud lover have tried many hindi in recent years but oh man this oud from habz is amazing something very unique its the trio of 3 hindi region Meghalaya, manipur ,nagaland woods combined distillation is very unique if he reomove the tag of hindi many will say its hard to believe for a hindi. its has the soury sweet opening with elegant barn very controlled calculated barn to make that sweet soury opening mind stimulating packed with woodish aroma very clean almost non soaked copper distill modern style oud with a price point quite reasonable.

Maunamoku's Hirta Deadwood. Amazing oil. It is so complex that I pick up a different note or couple of notes each time I put it on, and notes start off in different orders usually every time I wear it. So the main notes this time was. Starting off with intense fruitiness, quickly into woodiness, raw agarwood smell, fruit note turned into dark resinous note coming out of burning wood, powdery, golden hue of honey and white and light pink florals, lushy green kinamic minty notes with the florals too, nearing the end with some frankincense like note (I didn't even know that was possible). Insanely good oil, guys... I like new gens. Lol.

Thank you for your kind words, when oils are praised by those with years of experience and understanding its always more special. Ive realised and been part of that journey where earlier on with limited exposure to Ouds the oils i enjoyed were not very great and the quality ones i never understood! Fast foward now i wouldnt even bother swiping those oils i "once enjoyed". The first few people to smell this oil including @Oudamberlove understood the oil right away. @Rai Munir i hope you get to smell some of the others too 🥰

Port Moresby today a true representation of a chip on low heat, a special oil 🤩

Dear Habz, I always hunt the oils you offer ENTHUSIASTICALLY down, silently. And the next one will be here, IA.
I couldn't resist writing when I dressed Xiang third time.

Now awaiting a co distillation of Hindi Oud- Meghalaya and a few other regions.

After a long time, this Oud Xiang pulled the triggered and hit the target.

Stay blessed.

Habzoud - Koh king (about the past week LOL)

I just love this one so much! I had to get used to the incensiness at first, and then I started applying it before going to bed. The dry down when waking up was so amazing I started applying it to study it and it grew on me more than I would have liked. I hoped I would find off notes but with every swipe I’m just loving it more and more.

I’m the worst at describing but it’s sweet but the first hour (?) or so its sweetness is more crystal clear with incense, which I adore. The drydown on fabric is more oudy, on skin it’s sweet but never too sweet.

I was just enjoying a little bit of the habzoud zamrad II again… I enjoy applying this one on my neck - a little bit gets on the fabric of whatever I’m wearing as well of course. I am surrounded by an engaging interplay of sweet, spicy, umami, and rich oudiness in various combinations as I go about my day.

HM Royal Maroke 90's - Sulaym - The most emerald like Maroke I've come across, ever so slightly minty, dark green, evokes images of mossy (perhaps even seaweed-y, or underwater plants) green velvet, with a bristliness from that familiar, signature waxy note. Distinct from the clear emerald sort of Malays, where those are brighter, this is denser, and while it doesn't project as much as them, it maintains its original strength for a surprising amount of time. Like breathing deeply while standing in the middle of a rainforest but without the humidity! It's also rare to see this sort of depth coming from a resinous profile, with no hint of smokiness which I can perceive. Into the late mid and dry down you'll start to feel the undercurrents of something sweet scurrying around. Uplifting but more meditative than bracing, a perfect after work swipe when trying to decompress.

EO Meghalaya 1977: The opening notes takes me to a jungle of wet rainforest. I smell wet moss and earthy moist soil, with birds chirping in the background. The profile soon becomes purple (flexing my newly learnt colors association 😜) with black currants and berries sweetness within the realms of rainy forest. A perfect oud to relax after a long day of work.

Plantation A. Sinensis Oud from @adrieent from the same highly resinated and oil produced skins I have posted on the burn of the day thread. I was hesitant to try this oud for a while for silly reasons, so finally tried it today, took the essential oil cap off it since I wanted to use a dip stick, and put a couple of fat swipes on my hand, then after a couple mins started slowly and gently rubbing it in (not hard at all, just softly so it gets round the top of my hand nicely). The scent started off quite oceanic and spring water-esque scent, that carries its way throughout the experience, notes of wood (but strangely enough, not the normal oud wood note, just of a nice scent of wood), and a nice sweetness that wasn't sickly or cloying, and notes of "amber". After a time limit I didn't keep track of (probably 15-20mins) it entered a minty phase, and is still quite minty after it has been in this phase for a while, it is like a nice cooling, minty, refreshing, spring water note, not like menthol, maybe closer to camphor, but definitely not as super strong as camphor, it is more high amount of borneol note, maybe? It is a nice, kind of kinamic minty note, that would make some sense being it is a pure A. Sinensis oil made the traditional way. The minty note is definitely not overpowering or sickening like camphor can be, it is nice and soft and rounded with sweetness, woodiness with an amber accord.

I really like this oil, and it is very cheap. Very, very cheap.

Ask @adrieent if he can give you a couple grams as a sample, as it is super affordable, and not as bad as I thought it would be, actually quite nice IMO.
