Plantation A. Sinensis Oud from @adrieent from the same highly resinated and oil produced skins I have posted on the burn of the day thread. I was hesitant to try this oud for a while for silly reasons, so finally tried it today, took the essential oil cap off it since I wanted to use a dip stick, and put a couple of fat swipes on my hand, then after a couple mins started slowly and gently rubbing it in (not hard at all, just softly so it gets round the top of my hand nicely). The scent started off quite oceanic and spring water-esque scent, that carries its way throughout the experience, notes of wood (but strangely enough, not the normal oud wood note, just of a nice scent of wood), and a nice sweetness that wasn't sickly or cloying, and notes of "amber". After a time limit I didn't keep track of (probably 15-20mins) it entered a minty phase, and is still quite minty after it has been in this phase for a while, it is like a nice cooling, minty, refreshing, spring water note, not like menthol, maybe closer to camphor, but definitely not as super strong as camphor, it is more high amount of borneol note, maybe? It is a nice, kind of kinamic minty note, that would make some sense being it is a pure A. Sinensis oil made the traditional way. The minty note is definitely not overpowering or sickening like camphor can be, it is nice and soft and rounded with sweetness, woodiness with an amber accord.

I really like this oil, and it is very cheap. Very, very cheap.

Ask @adrieent if he can give you a couple grams as a sample, as it is super affordable, and not as bad as I thought it would be, actually quite nice IMO.

I have been enjoying this, it only last a 2 or 3 hours for me but it is an enjoyable few hours, struggling with finding the sweet spot with the wood though. But will keep trying, if I can’t was thinking of making an ethanol extraction with it See what happens!

Yeah it has short longevity for me too, dries down after 2 maybe 3 hours, as well.

Agar Aura - Pursat Atique
I wasnt expecting a new gen style oud and this is what I get.
A traditional non barny or animalic opening. More woody dark with tobacco and light sweetness. The typical cambodi fruitiness joins slowly but with a subtle sweetness.
It has an incensy core and tamarind sour nuances you smell in hindis

Is it unique? If you never smelled a high quality traditional yet clean oud, yes and the price is very fair
Is it the best Pursat I tested? No
I love new gen ouds and for me Emperor pursat and Pursat Maliki offer a more unique one of a kind experience. Maybe Pursat 4k is the oil I should try next

Sulaym - Thai Khaio

Last night while trying out several oils, a couple from Rayong and this Southern Thai oil, I swiped some of each, observing their top notes and then letting them settle down. The Rayong oils opened with a beautiful mintiness, which didn't last long enough for my liking, a nice accent, but naturally not the entirety of their profiles. I swiped Thai Khaio on my mid arm and sorta left it there. Several hours pasted and I was more focused on the Rayong oils, they were getting sweeter and then I sorta left them as well.

Fast forward a couple hours and I rechecked the Rayong oils, and then sniffed where I'd swiped Thai Khaio. My first thoughts were "This smells incredible, do Rayong oils dry down into this? Also why does it smell like a sweet Malay?", forgetting for the moment that I had applied Thai Khaio here. On previous wearing I'd get an emerald green like Malay profile, but with a vegetal bitterness with a hint of naphthalene mintiness, and then slowly it became more leather-y. However this time it dried down differently, cool and resinous. I'm wearing this oil again this morning, and it's enjoyable from the first swipe, and only keeps on getting better. Easily one of my top Thai oils, if not the top on any given day, again I'm being a bit biased due to the profile I like, but the sheer enjoyment I get from this oil, coupled with its price, is mind-boggling.

I genuinely wish I had a several tolas of this oil, this oil was distilled in 2022 and already smells this divine, just imagine what 5 years or more will do to the scent profile!

Today I'm trying Langasuka, which is an organic Thai oil by Kangiiten. It is the last of the organic trio by them. Langasuka has a thick, clean and interesting profile. There have been many oils similiar to it, but this may have a slight edge on the affordability at today's prices. It is thick in consistency and not very loud. In the opening Langasuka gives off a deep red, and typical cambodi vibe, and it also has a certain sour note. The sourness, some 30mins in, is not unpleasant though. Some light golden florals shine through as it develops. On first try it smells like a great introduction oil with that woody sweetness, and the price is also such that one can either use it freely, give it as a gift or take it as something for mixing with other oils. I don't think the stash will last in the store long though. For comparison, Habz's cambodis are reminiscent of this Thai, however, they seem to take some nice subtleties found here and crank them way up.

From the three oils Hastidvipa seems the weakest, but Hastidvipa also has some super uncommon notes and profile going on.

All said, this one leaves a nice impression and I'd have to compare it directly with the Kumariratana organic oil to place them confidently but they seem close. Lastly, I think I don't need much more of such oils so I may start collecting samples from our vendors/resellers again or pause for a bit.
I just bought Langasuka and Hastidvipa today and wish I had read your review before buying Hastidvipa. Would it be possible for you to expand your review on this oil just so that I have a better idea of what I am getting myself into hahaha.

Tried it yesterday. It’s a unique Thai oil among many regular Thais out there. Honestly smells like a resinous old school Malaysian. Very nice.

You sure you dont mean Dhul Q?
Oud Dhul Kifl ya akhi. I never got Dhul Q, I understand it has a similar, and from what I understand even stronger smoky profile. That said, I never had the chance to compare the two, would love to hear your and others thoughts for those who have.

Hi Youssef, unfortunately I don't have it at hand right now. Maybe I can give it another spin later tonight and compare it to another Sri Lankan oil. Did you by chance take their latest Thaqeel oil? I missed that one, but that one looked amazing.
