Cambodi Quadem was hard to get out of the container its so sticky. i would bet that this oil nearly sinks, if not fully sinks in water. the smell is just as bodacious as the consistency! funky, sweet, complex fruit notes that have a nuclear projection. if tou want to talk about the perfect 'sour fruit' then i love a Crassna

edit: it kinda reminds me of the Viet i got from RisingPhoenix which i went through ridiculous fast cause i loved it so much 😆

Speaking of IO I’m sitting here stressing over, using my super hoi an. I love having a small stash of it, but I also love smelling it and therein lies the problem. That is heavy oud and a little bit pushed on the ferment but just on-point to bring out this crazy deep chewy dark licorice intensity kinamic / sinenses / dank malaysian old resinous tang.

Just too good - I can’t bear to use it and I can’t bear not to use it. In this kind of situation, the correct path is clear: busting out the hoi an as I type, more or less.

I can’t complain, though the one on the right is topped off 🙂

Legendary oil @Faizal_p

Wild Sumbawa from @mesOUD Abi

Beautiful oud oil. Leathery slightly Smokey, sweet resinous with a touch of coffee.

I think this works wonders pared with castoreum

Imagine finding the old leather jacket of your grandpa or father on the attic in a dusty wooden box with a couple of coffee beans in the jacket
i have that leather jacket you're talking about. great comparison 👏

It’s one of the things I’m reaching for if there’s a house fire. If I found something that echoed it I might feel comfortable using it a little more. I wonder if somehow that type of fermentation could be applied to cultivated kinam. I like ck oil, but it needs some kind of edge.

Coming soon😂🤣😂

Good luck with that Mesoud. I know you are taking risks with some of these very high-end distillations, the Turkish clay, and now this. CK is a strange fish - i’m sure people have tried fermenting it before, but I have no specific knowledge or experience as far as I can tell.

you've got me wondering how awesome it would smell with a perfumers house on fire.... how awful 😆

im picturing firefighters smelling the air

I am perfumer with a small p. 🙂 it would smell good, but the radius would be small

@mesOUD Sumatra Seufi This Malaccensis oil kicks off with a lively brightness, like sunshine filtering through the dense jungle foliage. I pick up on a faint hint of zesty lemon and lime, mingling with a touch of bitterness and sweetness, and a woody embrace. It's not just any woodiness — it's dry, with grassy undertones and a bit of earthiness, instantly transporting me to a tropical landscape after a fresh downpour, the forest floor damp and spattered with decay. And there's more to it — a subtle, light note of leather and spice adds depth, like the faint scent of aged paper.

HM Malay by SULAYM. Haven't worn this one in a couple of weeks, I think, and I was in the mood for this tbh. Took a couple fat swipes and then it began. Notes of oozing resin, purple hue berries, a sharp cooling note (that starts to go away after 15 mins of settling on skin), and leather. After 15mins it died down a bit (it was very intense lol) and the woody note came in, leather still intact as well as the berries, notes of an oudiness with the wood, the wood has a scent to it like old wood in an old, ancient even, building. Lovely oud. As this develops there will most likely be a powdery floral note as well as a smokey incense note, will I pick it up this time though? Who knows? That's the beauty of oud.
Is this the Purple Malay?
