Layering kyarashrine "green kyara" (lol) oil with some "robusto" hainan ck i got from Richard/Wardlab😥. The hainan is kind of fermented and has the salivary notes, but some good bittersweetness as well. The kyarashrine oil is more clean and minty and cuts the salivary notes, and there exists a ratio of the two that is very satisfying and the best of both worlds without the worst of either.

There is terminology I'm still learning here in identifying notes. "Salivary" is one I have read often but not really understood. By this do you mean it has a slight musky/salty note?

@mesOUD - Meleka

Bedtime swipe of some Meleka, an A. sinensis oil hailing from Malaysia. Begins with a powerful bitter fishing boat and citrus zest opening. Not briney, but more of the smell of algae. Bitterness coming in the form of earthy clay as well, an animalic leather funk joining the scene too. The way this oils pops off the skin is really something else. There’s a full bottle of this one with my name on it for sure

Interesting is it Meleka or Melaka? The latter is the correct spelling of the State of Melaka in Malaysia! Interesting that there this is a Sinensis hailing from there, thanks for this awesome review!

Wore Kannam yesterday btw when meeting a dear friend, if you’re ever in Madinah, do try it in any of the ASAQ stores, specifically recommend the one near Hilton.

It is something kyarazen brought to my attention. It is very obvious in many of the hainan ck oils and various fractions i have smelled, a bit repulsive. Like the smell after a cat licks you.

@mesOUD - Haikou

Sweet musky sugar cookies, damp mint bushes, honeyed wildflowers, creamy vanilla, salty wood chips. A beautiful example of distilled CK.
Nice description!

[Ouddict.com] Oud of the Day

Brief first impressions of the oil, even though I have worn it many times but lately I have been going nose blind fast to a lot of oils, and have realised I have just been putting on WAAAAAAAAY too much lol, and my mental head space hasn't been right, so I was applying too much of oils, and now I found my sweet spot, which is 2 normal swipes, a half "swipe" or a dot and 2 other dots, (instead of 4-5+ fat swipes 😂).

This is nearly 3 hours in so I might have forgotten some, notes.

Starts off quite resinous (not as resinous as most Cambodi oils), and sweet agarwood notes, with nice sweet red fruits, and it was quite sweet, slowly in the background started showing a slight sour cherry note, then later on after settled and you are at heart notes, you get a very elegant, soft agarwood note, with a bit more resin notes, but pretty much the same (and they get weaker as you get hours into it), mintiness coming in softly and with a sword piercing, coming in and out throughout . Then there is a more detailed sourness, more sour fruit notes, cherries and possibly tart(?), clean forest notes, with a light airy leafy and greenery notes, heavy in the fruits, and spicy notes come in and out he mix quite often. As we move into later notes you get a nice frankincense-style citrus notes, combined with the fruits. There's beautiful resin rich and woodiness together that form a very nice agarwood incense note, that comes on for a period of time then goes and come back throughout the heart, its fantastic IMO, lovely incense note. Further we go in and it has notes of confectionary (like sweets), chocolate, and some (light) caramel. Then a woody creamy note, powdery sweet florals, with a spicy undertone, with some fruits popping up and down again every so often.

Top tier bliss .
1.Vietnam Royal -FO this oil was from ha tinh , medicinal bitter incense goodness , would recommend as a reference oil . Long lasting oil with nice scent progression from the medicinal bitterness to lingering incense bitterness .
2-veitnan Special k AA (from the same region from the oil above) this oil is from a sample , the opening is very similar to VR but ends with less bitterness and more rounded peppery and tea like .
3-imagination by oud tripua - If you love and search for top tier indian oils , then search no further than this oil , golden mentholic hay with 0% offensive notes , with a hint of medicinal bitterness , very uplifting

Arakan Classic - An Najwa - I really slept on my sample of this one! It's sweet, and resinous, yet bright and airy. Everything's in perfect balance. I enjoyed it while having a piece of Basbousa and a coffee, the ultimate afternoon break! It's just the sweetness that's perfectly wrapped by the citrus like notes in this oil, making it an irresistible oud for the summer months. While there's no mentholic, camphorous-ness I like in my ouds here, the citrus peel boiled in sugar syrup is just so addictive, I can look past it. These sorts of ouds remind of Yuja Tea (Korean Citron Tea), in concept as I've yet to try it, I used to refer to them as marmalade like scent profiles, so you get the idea. Deeper inhalation give you the scent of breathing deeply in a garden right after a rainstorm, the scent of water dripping off green leaves.

What do you think the oil is from? Hindi? Cambodi? Also any hint of any synthetic additives in it?
