Ceylon Sapphire - Tabeer Oud
A usual Sri Lankan oil that I’ve been very fond of for several years! It’s an complex wearing experience which twists & turns in many directions.

Starts off with an atypical slightly soaked / smoky note, ambery, ripe fruits & warm spices before the Walla Patta signature emerges gracefully with its cool oceanic, petrichor, earthy, ambergris, white floral, dry woody incense character, all while retaining this gorgeous aged resinous sweetness.

I usually apply 2-3 generous drops into my palm & wipe it through my beard & over my clothing, it lasts all day fragrantly wafting a beautiful sillage. A really great oil for my tastes.
Did you notice a note of peanut shells in this? 🥜
Perhaps that’s the smoky, ambery note you’re referring to. Either way, it’s a fantastic traditional Ceylonese oil that is unique enough to be remembered. Truly a heartwarming scent 👏

Yes I can definitely perceive a woody nutty quality. It’s quite the oil! Tabeer Oud did a great job with this distillation working the wood within slightly traditional Hindi parameters.

Morning swipe of Modhesh - ASO.
I’ve worn a lot of this oil during the winter & it’s become an old friend to me. It’s a masculine, complex, austere & somewhat ruthless oil with a ton of old school Oudy punch!

Both warm & cool with notes of black leather, bakhoor smoke, jungle camphor, a blue / green oceanic freshness, with a huge spicy profile recalling clove, aniseed, cinnamon. In the background you can perceive the elegant berry, Sandalwood, vanilla Malinau signature.

Wears brilliantly in cold weather. If you’re looking for a pretty oil, look elsewhere haha.

A Masterpiece of Elegance – Pursat Luxara by Jungle Oud

From the moment I swiped Pursat Luxara, I knew I was in for something extraordinary. This Cambodian oud oil is a true celebration of craftsmanship and nature’s finest offering, taking you on a sensory journey that feels both intimate and opulent.

The opening notes are an exquisite blend of sun-dried fruits and the irresistible sweetness of vanilla, which immediately wrap you in a warm, welcoming embrace. As it blooms on the skin, a deep, luscious richness of date molasses begins to emerge, balancing the sweetness with an earthiness that evokes ancient woodlands and aged leather. There’s a sensual smokiness that lingers just beneath the surface, creating layers of intrigue that make every inhale a revelation.

What truly sets Pursat Luxara apart is its evolving complexity. As the scent matures, subtle hints of cherry pipe tobacco emerge, lending a nostalgic charm that beautifully contrasts with the opulence of leather and wood. There’s a refined smokiness that keeps you coming back for more, eager to uncover its many facets.

This is not merely a fragrance, but an immersive experience—each drop feels like a tribute to the wild trees of Cambodia that have survived the test of time, holding within them the history and grandeur of centuries past. There’s a richness to this oil that is both regal and grounded, reminding me of a time when such scents were reserved for royalty.

Wearing Pursat Luxara feels like enveloping yourself in a cloak of olfactory luxury. It’s gourmand in the most refined way, with touches of caramel and spice that dance on the edges, never overwhelming, but always tantalizing. The experience is sensual, earthy, and profoundly elegant—truly, a masterpiece that will captivate anyone lucky enough to encounter it.

For those seeking a scent that transcends the ordinary and immerses you in an unparalleled sense of luxury, Pursat Luxara is the ultimate indulgence. It is more than just a fragrance—it’s a connection to history, a celebration of nature’s rarest treasures, and a tribute to the timeless art of a luxury oud.

Immortal oud Prince Cambodia + Liberty’s Zephirine.
The Liberty perfume’s profile is
  • Top Notes: Fig Nature Print®, Cypress, Clove
  • Heart Notes: Rose Centifolia, Patchouli, Benzoin
  • Dry Down: Suede, Vetiver, Cedarwood
The oud synergizes perfectly with it and gives it a smooth Smokey honey dark mysterious character, stale coffee and cedar with an incense dry down. I thought it would make it more masculine but somehow it turned it into a sophisticated, sexy feminine perfume, if this blend was mine to sell it sell it for a very high price, it’s simply too good.

Nha Trang Qinan - Kymya / The Attar Store.

A bitter, minty, medicinal, terpenic top note of high grade Vietnamese Agarwood on the sub at low temp. An ethereal & luminous kinamic vapour so full of energy it almost has a psychoactive effect. We all have an approximate knowledge of what Kyara smells like, yet it’s so difficult to describe.

As the oil progresses on the skin the aroma unfurls with notes of fresh fruits & jam, rose, cinnamon, honey, mimosa (or fragrant Wattle in Australia). The base note is a majestic display of high grade, mature Crassna resin with glimpses of an elegant Chinese Sinensis. A vanillic, dry, pollen-dense & powdery finish.

I’ve yet to purchase anything from brother Mehmet, I think this might have to be my first oil considering the quality of the distilled material & the wonderful reviews. I adore Indonesian Gyrinops, it’s a beautiful profile.

Go for it! Such a beautiful profile after your quote i sniffed my hand and it has settled rather nicely after all these hours

Zamarad 2 - Habzoud, mmmmm, yummy stuff. Very much enjoying this sample and I'll most certainly be making this my next bigger purchase. Has all the hallmarks of an Habzoud oil plus a kinamic menthol that floats passed every so often. Great projection. More please! 😁💚

I still don't understand the purple reference because I don't perceive vetiver or iris as purple... it doesn't matter though - it's just good to know what people are talking about.

Going forward I will assume that when someone says purple it means something like vetiver or orris root. do people call it purple because there are purple colored irises out there?
yeaaahh i dont get purple in vetiver at all. i think there's more purple in co2 sambac. or grapes... vetiver to me is a brown. its got some buzz to it that can give it an almost peanutbuttery note in the Haitian stuff for me, and smokier in Madagascar or Java. India smells cleanest and if i gave it a color it would be red.
