“Anas”, @mesOUD. Shimmering, powdery, purple and white radiance; an undercurrent of sweet pollen, notes of crystalline ruby peeking from behind violet waves. Superbly distilled.

Absolutely charming engraved vials. Mehmet delivers a phenomenal experience.
Very happy to hear that you liked ANAS
Thank you

The @Habz786 Alhind Dhahab is so suprisingly delicious. As I have mentioned a few times I'm still getting my Indian oud sorted so I can't comment on if it is typical Nagaland or for any other region or how it compares to many Hindi legends of the past... I'm still learning what is possible here.

Smelling it from the bottle I am greeted by a familiar spectrum of hindi oud - a little tartness, leather / animal hide, sassafrass oil, a sense of a well cleaned stable, HOWEVER:

I swiped it twice: once last night and once again this morning - I was truly blown away by that first swipe - in a way I was anticipating the fragrance because I have smelled maybe 15-20 Hindi ouds and this fits the general profile, but there was something really engaging and mesmerizing about the rich syrupy oudy base that forms the the heart of this oil, and some of the more challenging notes are either absent or present at a level that adds contrast and beauty as opposed to shock or competing for attention.

I really do struggle to produce the rich scent associations that some of you are so talented at writing... I can say that there is a beautiful mesmerizing complexity to the sweetness, just the right amount of tang, rich custardy confectionery notes, sweety resinous aloes all the way

I generally try to avoid superlatives in my comments when describing oils unless I am truly surprised / delighted or entranced, and to me this oil really screams excellence, and once again I find myself better understanding how many of you here have come to see Hindi oud as the pinnacle of your oud aesthetic.

yeaaahh i dont get purple in vetiver at all. i think there's more purple in co2 sambac. or grapes... vetiver to me is a brown. its got some buzz to it that can give it an almost peanutbuttery note in the Haitian stuff for me, and smokier in Madagascar or Java. India smells cleanest and if i gave it a color it would be red.
I've never heard of someone smelling purple in vetiver before , that's a thing ?

I have also never heard this before. I have always thought of vetiver as the epitome of a green scent.
And yet this is just an arbitrary association based on past experience in all likelihood. I don't mean that dismissively

Good stuff

I was able to smell this oil recently, it really is a gorgeous oil. It really does represent a chip on "low" heat smell in the best way. I couldnt really spend time with it how i would have liked to as i had around 10 oils on both arms but i can attest to its high quality, beauty and projection power!

Nice description of notes and juicy is exactly what this oil is, you could easily be tempted to taste it lol. When i described this as the scent of Arab royals this is what i imagine the shaykhs and royality would smell like, pure Hindi bliss.

Finding skin real estate on which to test things out is a challenge sometimes for sure ha ha. The well-dressed man of the future we will be accompanied by a clone thereby doubling our capacity to enjoy Oud.

I don’t really think it’s arbitrary but obviously it’s based on past experience. Just like any scent that we try to describe.
It would be fascinating if people arrived at the same color associations independent of experience - like some kind of archetypal connection (not sure if I'm using that term in the correct sense here).

Crazy ck oil Richard / Wardlab sent me back when we were working through ck and jasmine specimens - this was the third ck he selected - this one has the pronounced cucumber / melon / violet / cassie opening, not minty, not salivary. More like the one olefaktory distilled than others i have smelled. I don't know where he got this from but it would be a nice one to have a full bottle of.
