Man you are saying Alhind dhahab feminine! It is as masculine as it can get to me. I think yeah smell is very subjective. It is literally me romaning with lions in close vicinity.
Bro this is exactly what oud is !
The smell gives us feeling, it agitating some connexion in our brain to reach memory… it’s like a Madeleine de Proust
I remember Royal Tripura made me feeling feminine love ! How an Hindi can makes me feeling that 😅
This is Oud bro
Subjective ^^

Interesting... I also wasn't too keen when I first sniffed xiangshui, so it'll be interesting to see how my impression of it changes over time
We should try to giving time to an oil you don’t like so much at the very first … I can even be one of your favorite oil !

I remember when James generously sent me sample of Nha Trang Ltd … I was disappointed cuz the reviews was nothing like I was actually smelling …
I told him « I don’t like , it’s nothing like Kinamic how this oil can be a legend ? »
2 month later I was falling in love with this oil!
Exactly same thing with AA Royal Myanma … Taha told me wait … spend some time with this oil it’s ultra royal grade trust me …
5 month later I was crazy about it !!
If someone got it by the way … I am interested in 😉

that color reminds me of Ejay’s SL 1.
I had a sample of Sri Lanka from him that was really stunning -

You don't want to let anybody pull the wool over your eyes when you first get something, but I too have found that some of the good ones can take a while to develop an understanding of/taste for.

Old feeloud "bio chan ko" or "bio ko chan" seems more likely. Oil #1 in the three oil set - I recall this one had a good soak in some kind of special water.

I bought these because I valued having a specimen with that unique Thai foresty aquatic riverbank vibe, but I never really connected with the top notes overall of these oils, a problem I have with young crassna in general. I like being able to smell it, and it's incredible that essential oil can provide some of the notes that it does, but it's not really pleasant to wear for me overall.

So I deliberately left this in a bottle with lots of headroom, thinking that maybe if it underwent enough change through oxidation I would become some elixir. While that has not come to pass, I would say it has improved a fair amount. It is a decent artisan made clean thai style oil, and the sour pungent stuff has faded, crazy cherry / marzipan notes toned down allowing more oudiness to come through. This has been aging for a decade at least, I don't remember when I got it...

I wish I liked the profile a little bit better because I think it's technically a good oil and there are just some notes that I'm oversensitive to.

Also I took a little swipe of @YusaAromatics Pursat Cheroot! I don't think I've seen anybody else mention this one, which is a WTF for me because this seems to be special oil. Heavy, sticky, rich stuff... want to mix musk grains into it for some reason.

Hi dear friends 🙂
Today I swiped 3 special Oils !

Habz Altamsah
Sweet vanilla cola and lemon dancing quietly… 🐊 🥤🍦🍋🦌🌳🌲
There is special muskiness in this oil !
It’s like a male musk deer was walking in the green jungle during the rutting season!
He is now crossing the River, watched by a crocodile camouflaged by water Lilies
This oil remind me some vibe of EO Tigerwood 1990 …
Drying down in oudy base with sweet (Kinamic)aspect and sweet bitterness with cinnamon a la Kanbi Koh !
Fruity bubblegum and oud bubbling With greenish vibe …
This oil is a treasure…
I need to find more, only have 0.25 maybe…
ISO Habz Altamsah 🙁

On other hand I Swiped Hikayat Karas Utama !
Explosive Top notes🍊🎋🍵🪵☕️🌊📚
Blast Citrusy and ginger with light bitterness of black tea and kopi luwak are infused in salt water 💦 it’s dark and green
Light smell of old book note with greenwood and dry wood … like an ancient woodcraft workshop
Very interesting oil !!

Craft oud Borneo king is unbelievable !
I catch AA Royal Malinau vibe with EO Borneo 50k
Deep and complex !
Honeyed vanillic lemon with cola
I can pick up wild Blackberries and blueberries 🫐 with some wild strawberry 🍓
I can detect pineapple 🍍 which is unmissable
Camphor aspect is not too sharp
There is like tutti Frutti note with powdery vanilla and dry sandalwood shaving
This oil is really amazing !

I wish you all a Gooud Ouddicting Swipe
🙂

Habzoud Raja Hijau and Sultan Hijau side by side!

Raja Hijau is so much more ladylike compared to the more gentleman Sultan Hijau. Right from the get go I was able to pick up a more masculine (very pleasant) feel. Tbh I can’t decide which one I like more. I think they’d be great for different moods!

Hi dear Friends, sorry for the long post 🫣

AA Blue Malay
🐜🍼🍋💦🍦🌰🫐🌲❄️🥶

This oil is really special… particularly for her creaminess… there is Milky lemon with vanilla Chesnut that is piercing your Nostrils…
Blue Malay Bite you with this pristine accurate and non ambiguous note I only found in this Malay oil … this is deeply addicting !
It is surely due to the Ant Nest built inside the tree
I imagine the Aquilaria defends himself against these thousands of Ants which have decided to choose this tree for house ^^
Taha sent me a picture of the wood used to cook this marvelous oil … and as you can see it’s Black ! ⬇️
The shape of this chunk wood is without any doubt craftwood Art … due to the Ants Architecture !
Such Artists are the Ants 🐜 ^^
If I were Taha, I would never have distilled this wood and I would have Kept it as Wood art in my collection… or at least not entirely, I would have kept a tiny batch of it !

Image.jpeg

The smell is not particularly strong, Rather it’s delicate, smooth , soft and sophisticated gentle scent close to the skin …
When I swipe BM in my beard, I am swimming in a Malaysian Blue Lagoon.
This is not the smell of Malay piece bubbling on charcoal…
This is the delicate scent of Malaysian agarwood slice, slowly warmed on subitism at low temp …
A pinch of Cinnamon, a sweet Vanilla Cola, and Milky lemon.
Like chewing raw licorice stick, wild blueberries with Mountain fir around !
An icy feeling but a warm scent
Just an amazing agar aura atmosphere
Al hamdulillah i kept this oil …
This is sincerely my favorite Malay oil ever, also because of her singularity and her story …
I love even more Ants 🐜 since I know Blue Malay ^^

Craft Oud Kakojan 🍦🥞🍫🍮🧋🍪🌾🥥

This Hindi is really impressive…
Another proof of that a price, doesn’t always reflect the quality…
It was between 50$ and 70$ per gram and the quality of this oil is undoubtedly above any affordable oil you can find at this price point …
This powdery Vanilla with Peanuts butter is impressive…
Zero barn, but still soothing
(An addicting Light sweet and smooth fur)
This oil was fresh and now it aged perfectly, the global scent is rounded
Very gourmand oil, it’s very close to what I remember of JK’s M&Meghalaya
White Chocolate, Nougat and salted butter caramel
A pleasant sweet bitterness with hay and light sweet coconut Scent… soo much sweeter than when it was still fresh !
Lot of brown sugar added with age subhanallah…
I Was not ready to see how aging can play such a big role in an oil …
The time is amazing… « Al asr »

Oxfordouds Hainan Nectar
💉🍯🌾🍈🍐🍏🥧🧁
When brother Shamshair sent me this hainan I was not expecting anything amazing for this price … but bro…
I was wrong !!
Indeed he is starting selling so he don’t want to put high price… but Hainan Nectar deserve to be at higher price ^^
I told him immediately it’s underpriced…
So honestly this oil smell between Kham Lao and Hainan Essenza ^^
Medicinal ⚕️🏥💉Honey 🍯 Hay 🌾
Melon 🍈 Pear 🍐 Apple pie 🥧 🍏 and pinch of sweet cinnamon roll 🧁🥮
All these ingredients make me think… (Kinamic ? )
This oil remind me a lot AA Kham lao & JS Hainan Essenza and even lightly (very lightly) (KKN) with less powdery, complexity and deepness of course …
I know some people would say ! Crazy man you exaggerate KKN is a legend how can you say that … let me explain:

I remember I sent a message to Taha and asked him « why do I smell similarities between King K Nam and Kham lao ? » 🫣🤪🧐🤓🤭
He told me « hahaha because of Hoi An flavor … same dna 🧬 with bittersweet herbal woody resin » 😲😮😌
It’s same here in Hainan Nectar … with less Kinamic of course I am not saying this oil smell kinam cuz this « Kinam » Term meaning so much things… and nothing …
The real Kinam / Kyara isn’t so much a smell … it’s more about an experience with some keywords we (most of us) use mistakenly …
Language scent could talk about Kyara better than me …
Anyway this Hainan Nectar remind me what I use to describe as « Kinamic » oils by mistake indeed …
Cuz it’s what I identified in legendary oils labeled « Kinamic » like KKN, Kinabang, GENT, EGY, EOC etc …
But They just sharing same DNA 🧬 but not necessarily kinam ^^

Sorry for this long Sharing… 😅 it was long time… Such pleasure to be back here in Ouddict 😍

ANAS by @mesOUD
Swipe of the night. Every time i swipe this is like the first time! It’s like the change of seasons here when winter comes and you forget all about the scorching summer! Incense burning slowly, a vase of blooming flowers on the coffee table and a faint touch of iris in the background. You know that feeling when you smell something so good you want to buy more of it? I always get this feeling with this oil! I’m excited for Anas II already!

Brother don’t apologise for your long posts, they’re very enjoyable to read. I love your descriptions & the effort you go to in highlighting your experiences!

What a beautiful looking piece of wood, the oil must smell superb. Malaysian oils & woods are right up there with Indian & Bruneian as my favourite regions.
If you wish to experience a top tier available Malaysian wood, I’d highly recommend Sarawak by Al Shareef Oudh. It’s one of my very favourites, the aroma is out of this world. A glorious profile of flowers, dark fruits, green jungle camphor, a lovely rich Agarwood sweetness & a touch of Musk I often perceive in these East Malaysian / Kalimantan / Brunei woods. Ultimately a vintage very deep resinous Oudiness!
The aroma of days gone by.

Today I’ve been swiping Silani Sultan - Kymya / The Attar Store.

As the weather is beginning to get slightly warmer here in Melbourne, I like reaching for these Gyrinops oils with a fresh oceanic character eg. Silani Sultan, Nusa - ASO, Green Papua - EO, Gaharu Hutan - Tabeer Oud etc.

Silani Sultan blows my mind, it still amazes me this aroma comes from wood! Such a vivid blue / green oceanic nuance, petrichor, mint, flowers, with that pristine Walla Patta resin note. A very pretty sparkling luminous oil, yet substantial & complex. Looking forward to sampling Hamza’s newest Silani oils.

Nagaland oud distilled a year ago, with some kalakasi pieces used in the distillation.
Has the signature Nagaland cheesy barnyard profile, with some leather Smokey woody with a touch of fruit. Very beautiful scent. I prefer this alone, but Assam is better paired with rose or jasmine.
Just wanted to ask, because I have been told (but I may have misread the info I got) that Assamese wood is pretty much gone, atleast good, wild, Assamese wood? Is this true? I have actually smelled old stock wild Assam wood but in stick form (they did used to have Kyara in this range but I am unsure if the still do, since my vendor in the UK (www.lotuszenincnese.co.uk has all of the 15 stick boxes for £70 which is $90USD except for Kyara) by Yamadamatsu's Shu-Ju Range, which is their Rikkokugomi range of sticks and basically their Rikkokugomi set in stick form and they use the same quality of wood in those sticks as they do in their Rikkoku-gomi sets, I believe. And I do believe it because each box of 15 5.5" sticks are £70, and the boxes with like 50-55 in them are around 100-150. I bought the Sasora 15 stick box and it is definitely Indian wood and Sasora is usually from Assam, so I believe that stick is high quality, real wild Assamese wood. It takes a little while to get used to that scent profile too, but once you do, it is quite beautiful, very wood, quite resinous, some red berry notes, bitter/spicy a little sweetness and majorly jungle, earthy greenery type notes.

The wild oud was depleted decades ago as I’ve heard from people there. And even old cultivated trees are rare. Only way to find it is if someone’s grandfather stashed it in a hut somewhere (which does happen and people stumble upon it)
