I agree with all your words brother. It’s definitely my favourite Thai oil. A glorious vibrant top note with sweet fruits & florals. The slightly musky, woody, resinous dry down is perfect with the Agarwood sweetness carried through until the final stages on the skin. Lasts forever also, with a good projection as I catch whiffs all throughout the day.The Oud Lab - Lao Xiang
@SamiterkiW inspired me to swipe this oil and I totally agree.
It is probably one of the best representations of an oil that keeps the balance between newgen and old school traditional style oils. Its clean and has no barny aspects at all. It smells Oudy, Old, Resinous, slightly floral, dry woody and musky and has a deep profile with a kinda bright opening. I am reminded of SQ oils, especially purple malay (which is more floral and powdery) or the 90s Malaysian SQ oils. The resinous and deep old aroma gives me the malaysian vibes yet it is a tad more fruity sweet in the heart and drydown than the vintage malays.
The Papua 2003 is one of my favorite top 3 ouds. I find it incredibly calming and exotic. The terroir for me is faceted with the incense of patchouli. Wonderful to hear that someone else appreciates it.I like the way you describe Papua 2003 … it’s very true !
The smell of sweet Mousse de chêne in the rainforest with a maya Temple where fruits was leaved as gifts with incense fumigation down the summer Rain !
Sweeet petrichor with mango peels , wet wood mangrove, grapefruit and citrus zest …
I remember your post from ages ago, after falling in love with Papua 2003, you managed to acquire it from AT before it was officially released. The Papua 2003 is one of my favorite top 3 ouds. I'm assuming that Kanbi Koh should be next 😊Round 2
The Oud Lab - Lao Shan
The master told me to swipe it as it will be a good comparison and it really is. This one is more dry, woody and serious in comparison, still with the aged vintage profile. It doesnt smell dry woody or green as in some sumatra or sumbawa specimens I tried, which lack the sweet touch and therefore can be overwhelming or too serious. It still has the appealing fruity sweetness but more dialed down than in Lao Xiang.
A beautiful evening with these 2 oils that helped me calm down and redirect my focus for a while during the stressfull phase I am in 😁
Great oils. A sign of real ‘oud maturity’ to appreciate these fragrances. Two very special oils from the brother @SULAYM IN LOVE 😍
Yess I am just waiting for next week when the stress is done so I can have a quiet moment with it in peace and more focus 😁I'm assuming that Kanbi Koh should be next 😊
SQ oils has the oudiness to them that I don’t find in new oils. That oudiness of SQ oils really differentiates the experience. They are deep, hit hard and satisfies the oud longing really well.Great oils. A sign of real ‘oud maturity’ to appreciate these fragrances.
Royal Viet: deep incense. Woody. Slight spice. Notes of dates, tamarind and this one also has a mild Laosi/Hindi barn after a while but the real smooth elegant type. A symphony of notes that plays for a while.
Royal Laos: bold. Slight animalic/musk notes. Plays between sweeter and bitter notes at time. Notes of caramel but again beautiful smooth vintage profile that you find in Sultan Qaboos oils.
Are they coming up for release anytime soon?Great oils. A sign of real ‘oud maturity’ to appreciate these fragrances.

Well said 👌🏻Not the best sense of smell atm but had to swipe Havva by @mesOUD today
Instantly a salty oceanic vibe with hints of cinnamon and golden hay sitting under a shaded tree on a summer evening. Then there is a very distinct phase of wildly florals (maybe this is the part that some of you perceive as fruity ). There is soft, smooth incensy background here which envelop the whole notes.
A very interesting profile and quite a distinctive oil - the similarity to Anas is the smoothness other than that I don’t get much similarity between the two.
Well done brother Mehmat for another great release.
