I need to go back to this one. I really wanted to like it but there was something in it that wasn't quite agreeing with me. I very briefly gave it a smell from the bottle once more a couple of weeks ago and possibly, whatever that note is for me has settled down as I didn't find it present but I'm yet to have another swipe of it so we'll see.
I’m surprised you’re not into it mate, it’s a masterpiece Merauke! Keep trying. I reckon one day soon it’s going to click.

EO Oud Salahuddin
Speechless, Rambo red bandanna, burgundy & silky. I read a review that mentioned terracotta pots and I have to agree! I have a room at home with terracotta floor tiles and I must say there is definitely a note that does smell like it. Amazing stuff!

My next step is to purchase some oils from Habz, The Oud Lab & Jinko!

Yo. I haven't worn any oud for about 4 weeks!

Trinity by Olefaktory
Sultan Saladin by Tabeer Oud

nice to experience these again. The Sultan is outstanding!!
Surpringly could still smell Trinity on the back of my hand before before bed; 9-10 hours after application and having cycled home wearing gloves with relatively thick fleecing inside, which I thought the oil would've rubbed off onto, reducing its longevity

I've forgotten to bring any oud with me to work but have some vials here from @Oudamberlove who generously sent me these years ago.

Ajmal - Masterpiece. DAMN this is stroooooong
his own Al Ghaliyah blend - this is #4

Did a 3 part co-swipe last night.

Lao Shan - The Oud Lab
Yunnan Imperiale - Imperial Oud
Mynma Gold - Agar Aura

The drydown is seriously to die for. I wish I could bottle just the aroma of this drydown and smell like it 24/7. It’s exactly what I love about Oud oil. It smells like incense, cream, a slightly sweet aroma that feels like yellow florals, a bit of a tangy quality from the sinensis and even that famed cooked milk aroma. Just so so so good.

I don’t really get this oil to be honest. I think Oud Ahmad and tigerwood Royale are better.

It smells old and ancient and dark red. It’s unique for sure but nothing I would crave or pay 2-3k for.

Yamadamatsu Green Kyara! As long as I have time to budget I’m willing to spend a decent amount of money. I don’t have deep pockets though so it takes time for me to save and purchase oils/woods.

time to start saving brother, when you are ready hit me up,

Well to be frank, I agree with you but the way I see it is oils are art pieces. They command a price and I either respect it and pay or simply move forward. And so far I’ve probably bought 50+ tolas locally that are not cheap. I either use them very generously or give them away to friends in good spirit. But Oud Salahuddin, I don’t see myself doing that 🙂
We’re all different and that’s okay.

Count me in! Could you PM me the price so I can arrange my budget 🤣
I was told at the dawn of my oud journey: when it came to the really high end oils, if you have to ask the price it is out of your budget haha

There's no need to even attempt

Noted, but no harm in asking. I suppose it may require me to plan ahead and inshallah acquire it 🙂 (unless I’m like breaking some unspoken rule here for asking about the price. Then guys, please let me know 🤣)

I just meant it light heartedly of course! I very much appreciate it when vendors are upfront with their prices and don't leave us guessing!

It was somebody's way of letting me know that oud could be very expensive long ago...

Here is a blast from the past that I uncovered while organizing: a tad of Purat Imperiale from Imperial Oud!

As you can see this is just a residue (there was essentially one drop stuck near the cap of the bottle before I applied it).

Given how old is sample is and how little there was in the vial I was anticipating a dull oxidized generic scent but this is FAR from that. There is a kind of scintillating aquatic fresh water and sparkling woody opening that was a shocker to me. Almost sinensis-like due to the singing sparkling wood notes but also crassna like in its heart. Spectacular!
