Leyte imperiale - attar store/kymya

Finally settling and turning into a great fili oil. Reminds me a bit of AlNamir from Habz but more purple blue floral like pinoy ltd or oud royale:fili. Glad I didn’t sell this one.
I have a little of this in a vial somewhere. Maybe I should crack it open and try it again.

Al Namir indeed! There are so many things that I feel so lucky to have had a chance to sniff.

Right now I am just really getting a kick out of the particular profile of the @An Najwa Sumatra I posted a note on here yesterday. I had put a blend of rose, patch and neroli on already this AM, and it seemed like it was calling out for this oud... applied a little swipe and the combination is just beautiful.
I agree, the Sumatra is very nice. I had a sample of this from a good while ago but it seems it's leaked out of the bottle. The box I was storing my samples in at the time I had to lie down the bottles and I guess it's leaked out. None of my other samples from An Najwa did this thankfully. The bottle still smells nice.

Ariyani SQ

There is no way this oil was distilled with regular water. I have 2 theories, Either adulterated or distilled in rose and Omani hojari water. That's said, it is a gorgeous oil, nothing remotely similar, sparkling rosey green resinous with the green Ariyani back ground. Whenever I thought I'm done with surprises I face new oil that is telling me I'm not even close.

Al Namir by Habzoud

Indeed very nice and is ageing beautifully. It feels more full bodied now. Lovely airy opening with that mineral/oceanic vibe, florals and cola that I picked up from first sniff. As time goes on, it moves on to a darker profile. Very oudy and resinous.

Edit:

In working outside in a park by the water and a brief shower just passed. The wet earth, fresh air and sunshine along with this oil is breathtaking 🙏

SplendOud Laos 2022 from @Faizal_p

It's sweet, it's fruity, it's balanced, it's crassna WITHOUT the infernal Thai pungency, hooray. brings my Pursat samples to mind in its top notes - clean, tangy, candylike. Seems like a nicely focused select crassna to me!

Ameenah - Emerald Papuan

green and shimmery, great oil. I need to try more Papuan oils to see how this compares. From the usual ones I tried, they usually share a note of dampness but this one is clear and I would say resinous.
Intresting ,how does this store
hold up to other artisanal houses ? Looks nice ,but I always have my doubts on these kind of perfume houses.

If you’re familiar with oudimentary, one of their teachers was the owner of this house/brand. I’ve tried most of their classic collection and a good amount of their exclusive collection. I’d say the exclusive collection has some serious value for the quality. My favorite being the Annam Kyara. Also tried Crassana Supreme, Emerald Papuan, Lao Xiang (I think) overall they’re good. As for the classic collection my favorite is the signature oil ‘Ameenah’ it smells like a Thai/Cambodi and it’s awesome. Medicinal, bitter-sweet caramel it’s delicious. Runner ups from the classic collection is the muataq Cambodian and Indian as well as the Malaki. They have a blend as well called fawah which is a mix of Oud oil and peppermint great stuff, I bought like 10 of those as of today to hand out and on behalf of other who liked it.

My 2 cents though I have to say I have not experienced Oud oils from all of the known artisanal vendors. But inshallah sooner than later I will acquire. Looking forward to try hazboud, ASO, Mesoud, Al Hashimi, Agaraura, TOL, RPP, Sulaym Yusa, An najwa, Faisal, Al Hind. I hope I didn’t forget anyone haha!

If u love old Hindi smell ,try out tabeer ,top shelf hindis . Especially the karbi .

Enjoying this Hoi An Ultima from @Faizal_p ! This is my third encounter, second swipe, still figuring out what this is all about. It is distinctive - has its own presence and unique combination of notes for sure. It is an oil with both projecting and fixative qualities so the scent is paradoxical - at times having quite an intense impact, at other times coming across as smooth, glossy, transparent. Absolutely beautiful "riparian zone" presence in the top notes. Nice saturated bitter sweet heart when you take a good "pull" lol. And there's a special kind of deep sweet tangy note buried in there… delicious, resinous, chewy, a facet I have seen once or twice before, drawing a blank on which oils it was in.

Anyway these are just some impressions after applying a swipe. More thoughts to follow.

(I recognize that photographs of these sample vials have essentially zero informational value)

The @An Najwa sumatra is really interesting - has an almost sulphurous richness when smelled from the the bottle - beautiful full scent. Love this oil.

Appreciate the insight into this house DoubleAJ! Fawah sounds exactly like my cup of tea! However when I skimmed their website just now, it had no mention of peppermint oil being used. I do wish they added a bit more detail to their product pages.

Do you know if they have sales somewhat regularly ? From my impression charging 1500 SAR is a pretty steep (for their exclusive collection I might add), but I've arrived at this conclusion as an outsider. Do you also have "Nano Tolah" available as they're called, for sampling (in case you saw them while you visited them last) ?

I actually found out by contacting one of their representatives, whom I asked about fawah and that it’s no way it’s pure Oud (didn’t fully notice the word ‘blend’ on the website) so he informed me that it is, and I wouldn’t be able to guess and he was right, I was shocked to know it’s peppermint. As for the nano tolas I don’t believe they have it brother, but if you visit their flagship store (ours is in Riyadh) they are, if not, the most hospitable commercial/retail experience I have ever had in my life.

Hainan qinan - Faizal privee

This is my first swipe of this. Started off light with hay and some fresh sweetness. It slowly unraveled more sweetness and berries and some woodiness. To me it seemed to share some DNA with xiang shui from habz, but this is much more sweet and young, whereas xiang shui is more dusty, woody and ancient.

I enjoyed this, and also I will prob try get some more Chinese ouds to get a better understanding of ouds from that region
