Kinam oil no.11 from yuzhi oud is the cheapest offering in the set i ordered. Oddball co2 extract stuff barely any aroma at all, it's just very light sinensis / ambergris-ish aroma and still thick like oud. I could see this as a base to build a fragrance in, taking on a role like sandalwood oil, as a carrier of other scents.

One nice thing about this is unlike some other CO2 totals that I have smelled this one has a nice clean profile it doesn't have that odd dull wet cardboard / wet wood smell.

Rising Phoenix - Sivasagar 2021

Just swiped it and opens up with a beautiful combination of horses, barn without manure, leather, honey, slightly chocolate-y with some dry florals (think a drought ridden field adjacent to an old barnyard on an oppressively hot and dry day). This oud makes me thirsty.

I don't know if anyone in here plays video games, but if you do swipe a good barn-y hindi and play Red Dead Redemption 2. It takes the immersion to the next level.

A very hot 42 degrees Celsius in Melbourne today! I went for an early morning run, but aside from that I’m staying inside with the AC. Any plans to wash the car & work in the garden have been aborted 😂

I’m wearing 1980’s vintage Guerlain - Vetiver EDC on my shirt + Sultan Hijau - Habz on my wrists & beard. It’s proving to be quite the lovely combination! Both are fresh bitter green profiles, slightly leathery, a touch of resinous sweetness, smoke & powder. Sultan Hijau is another very good oil from Habz, a classical green-spicy-floral-incensey Malaysian.
A meeting of French & Arabian masculine refinement.

I am almost wondering if this is more than pure oud because the label is not specific. It just says 'Haflong: 1981'. Can @SULAYM clarify?
This must be the hindi oil from Sultan Qaboos. I possess also one heading to me right now but also have an oil from Manipur which isn't far away from Haflong, India. The profile of these hindis are the dearest to me and I'm not a huge fan of hindi oils. Mostly due to the fermented note aka cheese(dreamcometrue).
You're describing it perfectly and that bite to me is of piercing quality that I find in manipur oils which was strange to me at the beginning. I usually expected this from viet. or malay oils. Once I receive Haflong I will tell if they're similar to the manipur oils.

OotD: burmese '79 from SQ. Dense signature of what might be the best burmi I have experienced. The beginning is smoky incense with a nuance of wood covered in mud. The more it goes on it starts to open into red soil in front of me. On my skin it changes into a liquor of flowers, boozy. It's subtle but my nose picks it up. Funny cause if I apply it somewhere else it doesn't. 😅

@SULAYM No.1 Burmese

Such a beautiful oil. One that really surprised me in a positive way to be honest.

Starts of with some beautiful wrafts of dense incensy chocolate(love those heavy openings). Really soon sweet fermented fruits start to pop out. After 10 minutes or so you get this beautifully resinous leathery phase.

And then something happened were I really had to focus to fully understand the process properly. It had an vibrant almost buzzing atmosphere that I enjoyed immensely. Almost like ambergris in a composition. It kind of felt alive.

And then there is the third phase where I really had to think. There was this rich high quality leather note that was kind of familiar to me. And then it struck me. It was Hyraceu. Beautiful wrafts of dark leathery Hyraceum accompanied with resinous oud. If you are familiar with Hyraceum tincture please give this one a try and see if you can detect the note.

This oil felt almost alive even though it is decades old.

Thuraya - Al Shareef

Malaysia is my favorite region. Have had the pleasure to try some top Malaysians from EO, AA, SQ, Al Hashimi.

Thuraya is really really nice. It’s definitely a mainland Malaysian. Sweet with this apple note. With a wonderful backbone of classic Malaysian wood. This is a bright yet classic Malaysian style oud. This is not your East Malaysian green/yellow type of Oud. This is not new gen. Zero barn or off putting notes. I don’t see a lot of these Malaysians lately.

Among top tier Malaysians. I hesitated to post this as to avoid making it sell out.
This one is top tier. I agree, in terms of quality, a rarity. Oils like this are hard to come by.
A generous sample was included in my package of Al Misk. I’ve been wearing it. The more I wear, the more I love. The only top tier Malaysian I have is oud Ahmad. But, things might change now 😀

Sinharaja by Al Hashimi. This one is really nice. Maybe it lacks a bit of refinement but I love how alive it feels. Piercing and strong with the lacquer notes I really enjoy. Truly delightful. Not for every day but when I feel like putting it on it delivers.

some Oils by @Oudique

Nha Trang Zeitaku - camphorous, slightly smokey with red fruits. My favourite of the Crassnas which I have. Sadly the longevity for me personally is not that strong.

Maroke Qadeem - green/grassy beginning reminding me of the Ruh Khus by an Najwa and black leather like when you take a seat in a brand new car. Im getting more used to it which each wearing as it is extremely masculine 😅

Burma K - slighty fermented, resinious, jammy grapes and has some airy/ethereal vibes. I tried only a few Burmese but this one is my favourite too, I like it even more than Shuyukhi by EnsarOud which is an SQ Burmi

Its my first time I tried a Vietnamese and Papua Oud, so I cant really compare it to other Ouds of same country. Ofcourse its not gonna be like an Nha Trang Oil that is 400-500 / g but at that price point they are really nice. Hands down brother Kani and Faheem are offering good oils for a very good price. Even though I only tried 3 oils, I guess the other ones are surely as impressive as those.
