Vathimi raja - ASO

Smoky hay and hint of earth initially. After a couple of minutes I perceived a very fresh and mildly sweet oceanic note mixed with earth, which is quite a contrast to the strong opening. To my nose the sweetness is blue in colour, and I was inclined to saying it was on the darker side but I think the earthiness is bringing about a slightly dark green/brown colour to my nose.

The sweetness receded slowly and gave way to fresh, earthy and floral notes with a touch of hay. Even after a few hours this oceanic freshness is still persisting. This is my first silani oil I believe, so I'm interested to try other silani oils

YUM. Is the Krishnai Chai smokey? Did you notice tobacco notes?
I’d say there’s an incensy/smokey quality but it’s on the more resinous side of the spectrum verse a “charred” smoke which is funny because of the name it could almost be confused with something super smokey. Think of a Smokey scotch. JK is pretty spot on with his description. There’s no barn at all but I do get hints of actual tobacco leaf. Almost like smelling a spectrum of cigar leaf mixed with rolling tobacco. Overall this is a clean but dark, very dark oil. Very austere and rich.

W E L C O ME SKY by Mark. (love ur name does this mean u r a god?) Trash Daddy hilarious even if the alarm going off made me a little nuts. Hopefully in the future realm you will generate more specifics on your oud tastes.
😎 Living life to the fullest within the blessings of God, my friend. I'm slowly getting better on reviewing the oils I got. I bought much more and still have to review. Unfortunately, I do not have the best nose. It has to be a loud scent for me to enjoy. But in the near future I will have sinus surgery which will improve my smell. I'm definitely here long-term.

Changmai by @Oudique is the perfect daily oud, bright, smooth, and incredibly easy to wear. It opens with a buttery, velvety wave of juicy plums and ripe banana, blending into a warm, salty-sweet aroma of Thai chips slowly roasting. This oil is fruity, playful, and totally addictive, an uplifting scent that pleases everyone around you. For once I have had compliments from my staff compared to other ouds which are not for all. Also at this price, it’s a nobrainer for collectors and newcomers alike.

Ordered a sample of this on a whim. Sounds good

Alhindoud - Alamgir 1. I have been wearing this since this morning. Note to self, one dot is PLENTY! I initially went with two. One under both ears and it's been blowing me away all day. Up till now simply smelling it from the bottle has been enough but I thought I would take the plunge today and wear it. Speechless.. I'm really speechless. I don't have any adjectives at all for this oil other than beautiful. Thankyou @AlHind Oud. Thankyou.

Sinus surgery. Hope you get well soon! That sounds like an enhancement of the senses surgery.

Salaam
Which is it the thaqeel ? Does it smell like maroke wood on a coal?
It’s from the AlKanz line of Ouds. No, it doesn’t smell like the Maroke on a coal. I have yet to smell real Maroke on a coal . Just the muhassan.

But this Oud oil is so good I might fork out some to buy the real deal chips. There is 75% off real Maroke at Sokkat AlTeeb but I got a friend’s wedding coming up so got to save. I’m between a rock and a hard place.

Inspired by some previous posts I dabbed some krishnai char on my sleeve this morning from @RisingPhoenix.

Bold, rich, and pretty true to the description. Forest floor, moss, rich leather, bitter black cocoa. Later into wear it gains a bit of a mushroom/savory note with some bitter herb-like facet. Maybe the slightest hint of smoke.

This has me scrolling some of JKs other offerings. Some stellar sounding hindis in his lineup!

I’m glad that you are enjoying it. My pleasure.

I've been on a huge maroke kick recently and have also been eyeballing this one. Any coffee notes to it? Smokey, earthy, tar?

Habzoud - Oud Chachak. I went hard swiping this a little while ago and have gone through a couple of grams of it rather quickly. Quick for me anyway. Thought I should give it a bit of a break as I find I hit these points of saturation where I'll be enjoying a single oil for days in a row and then all of sudden my nose and head say "enough"! What was once enjoyable becomes sometimes, even nauseating. This is what happened with this one. I had to stop. I had even taken it to NZ with me and the single day I wore it, it was just too much. I had barely put any on but the bubble that surrounded me was almost visible. Plus it was really cold over there. I believe this is a warm weather only oil. I've cautiously come back to it this morning and thankfully, it seems to have tamed down again and I can enjoy the way this oud is maturing. And maturing it is indeed! I'm getting much sweeter notes from it now that did not seem to be present so much before. I really think this is one to keep an eye ( and a nose ) on. Don't just read "plantation Cambodi" in the description and write it off. Remember, this is a Habzoud plantation Cambodi and get yourself a tola of it.

What do you pick up on the most from it, or what seems overwhelming?
