It’s KyaraShrine’s Exclusive Borneo Agarwood for me today. I love Hina’s products, but the one that absolutely shines is this Borneo oil. I recommend it highly.
Good to know!

With my delivery today I got a sample of @Al Shareef Oudh Al Bayt Al Ateeq II.
The attar has a lovely floral opening note which quickly encompasses many other notes as it goes through a whole range of beautiful high notes. There is a cleanliness about this attar that is difficult for my nose to pin down but I'll have a go.
It has a beautiful freshly washed hair scent that reminds me of "when in love." When everything seems fine and the world is perfect. This will push my olfactory experiences for sure. Other notes are there lining up to introduce themselves so I shall see how this develops.

Love your description!

Merauke Qadeem - Oudique

I’m nursing the last of this sampler after reading Steve’s Papua note above.

Opens with pure petrichor - wet earth after rain - which is rather mind-bending on a hot, dry day like today. Then it turns smoky with an almost acrid note of scorched earth, along with tree bark and decaying jungle sous-bois. Under that is a mineral, slightly saline, almost iodine impression - not far off an iodine bandage. This is a brooding, challenging, almost provocative oud. After an hour or so it starts to evolve. Some sweetness emerges; there’s just a scintilla of dark berry under the smoke (smoked berries, anyone?)

Probably not a rebuy for me, but I’m so glad I got to try it.
It's crazy how differently people can perceive scent.

I don't get petrichor in that one, rather wet jungle floor and flora and dense misty jungle air.

I don't detect much smoke in it either. Incense, but not overly smokey. Nothing acrid, scorched, or iodine. Just rich, comforting, complex, Maroke ouddiness

Thanks for the great note back! I will stand by petrichor today. It really twisted my melon how it’s a parched, totally dry and hot day here in Denmark today, and yet I could vividly feel that sense of stepping out after a rain shower 😵‍💫!

OudSg Malay Rose

Another one 👉👉

Got me a sample of this and Hakim's curation of oils is impeccable. Went in with low expectations and came out stunned so far. One of the most beautiful looking oils I've seen and it's a total perfume in itself. Antique chest, old books, dry tobacco hanging, luscious spices and honey and rose tucked away in amongst the pages.

I could 200% envision somebody using this in a full composition.

Edit: picking up on bubbling copal

Hello Salam Ouddicts 🙂
Hope you are all well ^^

Today I did Phili and Lao side by side

MesOud Levent
Habz Al Namir
AlHind Oud Lao Gold
AA Kham Lao

Levent is the very Best Exemple of Balanced Incensy Smoky Oud oil …
That Resinous incensy note is what I am calling Oudiness !
The tangy opening is bright and sharp in a resinous way ! Nothing overpowering…
Just Equilibrium … this is the best Ratio of smokiness I have ever smelled !
There is something addicting in this oil like Kinamic feeling …
The auxiliary notes are shyly talking around … salty oceanic breez , jungly vibe , bitter citrusy zest and purple narcotics flowery notes …
But this oil is Woody without any doubt!
And this is exactly what I love so much in this oil … I even get shadow of Maluku Anas in this Leyte juice …

This is again a Masterpiece distilled by our Artisanal Master Mehmet
Allahuma Barek Brother

Al Namir is Totally different style of Philipino oil …
There is Zero Smokiness here …
Instead you get a full clean but still musky addicting floral & bittersweet Fruity smell !
Here is Lemon , Cola , ginger , vanilla , milky creaminess ! Purple florals and pollen infused in jasmin tea and Honey

Al Namir make me feel more feminine oil than the Manly Levent …
Both are beautiful !

Alhind Lao Gold is one of the oil I regret the most cuz I don’t have enough in a lifetime…
I thought my Laos journey was finished with AA Lao oils …
Royal Lao , Lao 4k , Kham Lao , Lao gold …
What our brother Anas successfully distilled is a pure treasure and every Oudhead need this oil to understand how clean an oil can be …
This honeyed pear and apple cherry nectar with Butter and light cinnamon remind Me Tarte Tatin… the hay is light and clean with clear medicinal note !
I always said Kham Lao is my favorite Laos but it was before this one …
I am looking for this oil if someone is agree to selling some of it …

AA Kham Lao is bitter Honey lavender with hay quality and fantastic dry down … Lao gold is more clean fruity focused where Kham Lao is a bit darker with more bitterness and Grassy / Hay aura
I get kind a dark cherry note and cinnamon!

Laos oil are spécial to me …
I was talking with someone who know only very low grade industrial Oud Oils and he doesn’t even know how smell the real thing unfortunately…
Web is full of fooled people and misinformation and inaccurate fact of Oud even the basic process of Infection… most of them think oud is a mushroom … they even doesn’t know oils comes from distillation…
Even for musk they think it’s an oil by itself… they doesn’t know it comes from deer musk pod and need to infuse grains in an oil etc …

Because they buy fake Oud and fake Musk in actual store which claim it’s real Oud and musk … I can’t even understand how they are allowed to do that …
Maybe they don’t even know themselves that this is not the real things …
Anyway that is why I want to say something… sorry for the long message but I need to sharing this …

Al hamdulillah I feel privileged to be here in Ouddict and enjoying the products of the very Best Vendors in the Oudworld and probably some of the Best distillers in this earth !
Spending limitless energy, labor works , time and money to brings us the most amazing oils available …
Jazakum allahu khayran

I wish you all A very Gooud swipe 😊

Smelling "Soul of Laos" from @mesOUD

All of these oils from Mehmet are way over my head, and they're so precious that I don't tend to wear them enough to really gain the insight into them that I would like to have.

What am I smelling here though? There's so much going on, could this possibly be crassna (this is my own lack of experience talking, not questioning the provenance)? There are all of these tangible woody and phenolic facets on first swipe - grabs your nose. Now it's this sweet syrupy resinous accord. There is something kind of stern, active, assertive to the oil - it is a very positive attribute. Dark and resinous, it has an appealing bitter quality; smells mature

What an insane contrast to a plantation Lao crassa. I don't think I've experienced many high-quality wild crassna oils in my time - this oil pretty much collapses my old concept of crassna.

Update: went out to the mail to pick up the costus roots that just got here, of course stepping outside the aroma from the oud explodes - I was smelling flowers and spikenard and Musk and when I came back inside it was like I was surrounded by the finest resin rich pine sawdust with the most pleasant aroma. Just amazing

They don't do them like this anymore!
I'm telling you man, some of them do!

I'm kind of kidding I'm not really commenting on that oil which I am sure is phenomenal, but I'm a bit jazzed because I have been blown away by some of the new oils I have been smelling... there's some amazing stuff going on it's a kind of golden age.

I believe that every scent including oud should be experienced in the open air.
It creates an effect similar to that of alcohol does
each note reveals itself more fully.

I agree!
I've been blown away by multiple relatively new oils recently, but unfortunately not from China.
The last amazing chinese oud oil that I know of is Emperor of China v1 by JS.

Malinau by Habz Oud:
To make the long story short, this is The Malinau (Borneo) of the Golden Era of Agarwood Oil. No need to mention the name/s of certain legends, which are still in the connoisseurs' stash and visible on the resellers' shelf, prized and treasured, and are rightly prized and treasured, this Malinau is re-emergence (NOT reincarnation) of Old Timers. Just name of the oil is different and the house that has offered is different.

Greeting pungent, bitter, metallic, marine punch and further this 'narcotica' transforms into precious, green sweet woody scent, and later, it unveils its heart- the essential beauty- of the Oud oil- liquid gold resin on KyaraZen's milky white ceramic subitism burner. Sheer beauty!

Feel is all that matters to me. Deconstruction of notes is studying something dead and lifeless. Fragrance is the phenomenon very much alive. It whispers- KODO.

This Malinau does whisper and then silence prevails- blissful whisper and divine silence.

Long live, dear Habz.
