Oud Stories - Cambodi Pursat

It’s after work and I want to unwind. Pursat is my go to Oud. But this one is different. Dark brown. Stronger initial barn than a Hindi without the red wine note. Less woodyness and more nuttiness. The animalic musky notes are strong on this particular one.

Utimate Leyte - Faizal Privée
Philippines 2025

I think this is unreleased as of yet... @Faizal_p will you confirm?

From the first swipe, this opens with a smooth, sweet fruitiness... melon and other fresh tropical tones that feel very true to what I am learning is the Philippines profile. There’s a light, humid green edge underneath that keeps it fresh and airy rather than heavy.

As it moves along, I start to get that "old manuscript" feeling: dry parchment, a touch of camphor, and a cooling menthol lift. It’s an interesting shift, pulling the scent from fruity brightness into something more grounded and contemplative.

The drydown is incense-like, steady and refined, with good staying power. The fruitiness doesn’t vanish but blends in with the incense trail so it never feels flat.

I asked my wife - still hanging in there with my hobby - for her take. She sniffed, thought for a second, and said: "It smells like oud." Great. Thanks. She DID smell my wrist for a long time, multiple whiffs (this means she likes it, I have learned).

To me, it sits close to Oud du Soleil on the intro, though with its own tropical character. And once again, I find that FP’s work carries a certain consistent polish.... his oils always seem to have that extra touch of class. I'm starting to notice Faisal's fingerprints.

Very nice!

ASQ - Kyara Oud

Not to be confused with green Kyara.

This oil was found in a box that was a gift and apparently has been aged for 50 years. It’s deep reddish dark black and has a mellow woody note to it. It’s calm and compelling. No barn or funk. Very wearable and feels like it’s aged well. Feels a bit like a Cambodi but I can’t be sure. It’s sweet but not in a fruity way, more like a honey. Very beautiful, luxurious, and silky. I have half a tola of this good stuff.

Oud Stories - Aged Ceylani

This is a dark red Oud that opens with dried herbal notes and has woody and orange accents. It has no barn or funk to it. It’s not too sweet and not too fruity yet has those desirable facets. The heart has a spicy balsamic feel to it. It has a nice leathery bag scent as the bottom. Very nice profile indeed and I’m happy with this buy.

Sultani Blue by SULAYM (@SULAYM)

One of the things I love about SULAYM is that Ahmed's descriptions are so well written, and I find them to be completely spot-on. This oud does truly evolve into a "blue" scent, and does seem like a co-distillation of Malay/Burmi/Maroke. I really enjoy the incense note. Get some while you still can! I have 3 of these "bullet vials" full, and still want more...😄

Thanks @Ouderriffic. Stock is running low on this one. Rare to find purple and blue scent Ouds now.

@Al Hashimi Thaqeel Atiq is just a beautiful oil that I treasure. Everything about it the color … viscosity … transports me to another time. Very evocative, lush…vintage Cambodi. Leather,
Dark fruit… spice. Smooth. Can’t find much about this online … 🤷🏼‍♂️

@SteveE, you won’t find anything about this online as it has not been released. You were one of the lucky few to get a bottle 😂

indeed a great oil and a true gem! My Philippines collection is limited, but so far it is the best. I like it even more than Ensars Pinoy.

Wearing today :: EO TIGERWOOD 1991

If you were missing out on 1995 or Tigerwood Royale - here is your chance. The oil is almost identical to the other Tigerwood releases. The top notes are even slightly better. It is a great and already legendary oil with lots of Diesel, leather, dark incense notes. Very masculine and pleasing. Ensar's description is very accurate except that he does not mention the leather, old furniture vibe.... I am wondering why because that is definitely the base of the oil.

It is definitely one of these ouds that have to be in the collection. Great stuff.

Hello Salam Ouddicts, I hope you are all well 🙂

Today I swiped…

MesOud Andalas 🐍🪵🥤🍦⚛️🌺🌊💦

Andalas hit you with a narcotic green icy jungle Venom!
To me Andalas start Blue and remind me a lot AA Blue malay
Like all Mehmet oils I get a special oudiness that is the best resinous note you can find in an oil very well balanced… it is not incensy but subitisme vapor at low temp !
Dragibus Haribo Candies,
Lemon cheese cake and Light vanilla cakes with Cinnamon rolls coming with A fresh cola note .
I can guess there is Ant grade wood in this batch…?
Chamomile, and purple Narcotic flower following with a Salty Oceanic quality I found in Anas and Habz Maluku !
The dry down unbelievable, It becoming more and more vanillic with Licorice… to my mind this is Kinamic !
What I noticed in MesOud oils is all his distillation got Kinamic aspect …
Also each notes is rounded , at the right position, and dancing in their own style …
There is absolutely zero off notes and all notes smell better than the others …
Sometimes I love an oil because only some notes are beautiful but in Mehmet oils all the notes are a delight !
I can feel that comes from the distillation material and methods.
Also I noticed all Mehmet oils got a special subtlety , a strong complexity, deepness, and a sophisticated aroma
Very long lasting and close to yourself …
These oils works like perfume without the overpowering of perfumes !
Again a legend is born …
Thanks for your sharing brother Mehmet, may Allah give you the best here and after for your kindness and your Art

The wait for delivery of ANDALAS is soooo distracting, I am so looking forward to this oil. Your description makes the waiting intolerable. I can almost experience the oil through your words.
