Alatarji - Pure Khao Yai Oud oil

The opening gives notes of rainforest and running water. There’s a deep wet tree bark scent and is resinous. It’s blending well with the obsidian bloom from Oud Factory that I’m wearing. And of course it has a more runny consistency compared to the 1987 Khao Yai from Oud Ladawwan which is like molasses. And less spicy than the Khao Yai I have from Sokkat AlTeeb. Really lovely scent and depth.

I do have samples of both actually. Oud Safeer is still a tiny bit band-aid-ish for me. I wish I could get past that note. Al Janah doesn't have that at all. Just straight to the sweet Hindi. Sher Sha I had not tried for a very long time. I could definitely see myself getting more of this. It has that burnt honey soft chocolate note that I'm loving so much from Alamgir 1.
Habz' Al Hareer had that new-style Hindi with a nice addition of barn, but I think that's sold out now
Mighty mizo was a micro batch
I only got a small quantity of Wild wood from a private garden

I have a clean Incense grade assamese kept for maturing
Will be out on the website in September
😍 glad that I got to try this, much appreciated 🙂
I have a lot of oils and it can take me over a year before I get around to wearing an oil that I've previously tried and I don't post much in here nowadays, so apologies for not writing much about these oils

MesOud's Merauke, 2023, wild. From when he was selling oils not distilled by himself.
I like this. It's pretty typical for the region - what @Rai Munir would call a "boot factory" 😅 which I understand - very high piercing sharp leathered note but not like a rugged old leather as you'd get in a Hindi, but more clean....synthetic by comarison, I guess (not calling the oil synthetic btw)
It's good but lacks the complexity of other Merauke oils that I've tried. Al Hashimi's Meroke Sultani (I think, was released in '24) serves as a benchmark here, and Habz' Maroke Qadeem also stands tall.
They just have something a little more - this region was never a favourite of mine as most of the oils smell similar to this Mesoud one, but some of the outliers have shown me that they can be tremendous

Ensar Oud: Papuamantan (2006)

Another V vial I had stashed away.
Gotta start using these things, as they don’t last forever!

Deep, dark forest, plenty of greenery.
Dampness, but not in excess. Balanced camphor. Stays close to the skin in today’s temperature and climate.
Still enjoyable, but subtle.

This might get mukhallat’ed soon, I think. Will see what I can come up with 👍

Your product is the first thing that comes up when I Google ‘Purple Kyara’ - nice search engine optimisation. I’ll have to give this oil a spin 😁
Oopssss 🙂 Was still supposed to be unreleased, for those that can find the link and order before official release, there'll be a gift of a sample of an unknown secret oil!

Wore some broadlink CK distillate (batch #2) - pretty funky jarring opening, a little plasticy and pungent and reminding me of some crassna oils in a way. The kinam type profile comes through eventually and can become very nice with time but only after the oppressive opening fades. Quite different from batch number one which was more woody / cedary.

@Mr.P I ordered eleven 1-gram samples from them. It took a month to be "out for delivery," but the samples never reached my apartment because the address was written incorrectly. They were returned to the sender. They DID refund me after a month, but is it worth trying again? Are they pretty good?

I have not sampled their oud oils other than the kinam oils so I am not sure. I recall that @Saudalhajri had a set coming at one point a few months back and might be able to advise.
