LMK - Rose Malay
Agar Aura - Kuzen
Imperial Oud - Martabat

Following on from Mr P's frankincense thread I also have Rising Phoenix's Frankincense Special Reserve, Tyson's Vanilla/Frankincense/Mysore and Shabby's Frankincense oil on too, giving them a test for longevity.
How is the IO?

Lovely, extremely smooth, doesn't come off as sweet but a deep resinous smell to it

Also all these frankincense oils have disappeared! Well, RPP's is clutching on - it's the only one that left an oil residue on my skin
I just can't get good longevity with them 🙁

hmmm, this Rising Phoenix frankincense oil is strange. While it stays VERY faintly, it's there. I've tried 2 watches on - one maybe an hour after swiping and it left a bit sticky patch on the back of the watch. I've not long got out of 30minute bath and tried on another watch and the same thing has happened to this watch too.
How odd!!!

Tigerwood Royale by EO
A nice mentholic sweet oud whose opening notes seem to evaporate quite quickly. Lovely but not completely my style. But oh man...have been reading the story behind it, that kind of sales pitch really makes me laugh (even if true) and would turn me away from buying an oud.

Honestly this was my initial reaction for a few swipes .... but more and more I wore this Oud I kind of started to get connected to it ... eventually ended up buying a .95gr vial

I bought a bottle of Tigerwood Royale in my first purchase. I now know I should have sampled first... That's how we learn, right... I've worn it once and agree with your assessment. It's not a bad scent, may never be a favorite... Just happy it's not a candied fruit bomb.

Al Shareef II (@Al Shareef Oud). Cycling through my lovely little ASO library. I had to check the origin of this oil, as today it was emanating a distinct Cambodi aura. But it's Malaysian. I used to find it a little frustrating that I would experience the same oil differently at different times, but now that variability is one of the true pleasures of this pursuit. :praying:
