ASAQ Kalakassi (80yr old one; older batch) and Martaban by Imperial Oud. There's something to this that's very striking yet I can't put it into words....it's weird. Oceanic but not in the way that comes to mind when thinking of Walla ouds.
oooo it's a similar vibe that I get from Rising Phoenix's Qing but the 2 oils are from very different regions. I don't think that I like this edge, it's quite rough and only tolerable to smell unfortunately
Fortunately, it dries down and this initial scent does go away

I'm really liking the ASAQ - I have it for sale, as from memory it was too sweet for me before. Now, I'm not sure - doesn't seem overly sweet, at least not to the detriment of the scent and my enjoyment of its profile. May reconsider this sale (but...would I wear it often enough? probably not)

Fahad - Sri Lanka (Habzoud)
Hamms - Malaysia (ASO)
198 - Hindi (TajOud)
Hainan 05 - China (EO)
OR04 - Papua (EO)
Zamarad - Kelantan(Habzoud)

This blend which I tried with 0.10 to 0.15ml is turning into my favorite swipe of the week.

I'm sure many have tried to do something similar. What I thoroughly enjoy with this is everytime I sniff it I get a different note.

I'm surely going to try some more blends may be with a few organic oils now.

This is all encompassing fragrance.

Economy Laos versus
Agar Aura “cheat grade” Dao 😀

They seem to share a region-specific vein.
Not identical profile but something tells me they are cousins.

The economy is very slightly tobacco and smoke with oud and drab colors, Dao has sweetness and a touch of fruit. The “hit” you get from a higher grade of wood is apparent with Dao.....
oooooooooo, I wish I tried Taha’s Royal Laos.

Both fade and last as long similarly, with the economy oil revealing a wax note, in fact, the oil starts to solidify in the cold due to the waxes.

Either way, I like both.
I seem to tolerate lesser grade oils lately, that is, as long as I like the scent, and style.

I just checked Agar Aura’s Archives
geeeeez, he done cooked a lot of oils!!!
