Recently: AA Perampera. Wow! Starts SO dry and bitter. Then goes SO floral and juicy. And when I say floral, I mean, "nose stuffed in a jasmine heavy bouquet." A really extreme juxtaposition that happens rather quickly. Experiences like this is one of the joys of oud. God is the Greatest.

More recently: a fermented Malay that starts out leathery, then becomes like an old book store.

The Prophet used to wear Ghaliyah. Thus, perfumery has it's merits. But oud, in many cases, does a perfumer's job better than him. Some of the note combinations; it really makes me remeber God's greatness. A painting of a sunset may be beautiful, but it will never match the sunset itself..

This oil was a sample so I only have a tiny bit.
I’ve been smelling from the bottle for a while but finally swiped a drop.
WoW
I’m 100% sure what my next bottle will be.
The only question for me is 1 or 2 bottles?
powdered spice of light balsamic with a splash of early morning spring air this nectar is banging!!

Kakaya today by Al Hashimi. If I was going to buy a Malay oil, this would be the one. It has the sweet, ethereal aspects of Malays, but with a deep resinous backbone coming from the Crassna. You definitely know you're wearing an Oud. This would be a perfect daily driver, especially considering the price.

Masha'Allah - love your reflections.

But the faculties of the soul as well as the form and substance of the body are also god's creation so a painting done by a master painter is in no way something outside of the natural order of things. If nothing else man adds to the beauty of the natural world by being its witness. Each person sees a world reflected by the mirror of his imagination thus each person is already an artist (or at least the tools of the great artist) - creating his own world. A myriad of worlds (some beautiful some terrible) where each speaks of the mystery and beauty that is being itself. 😳:Roflmao:

AlShareef Oud's Kaashef on the left pulse point and AKAF's Amber ash-Sheikh on the right.
Kaashef on my left as well. :raisedhands:
I love how musk-rose-saffron is complemented by the wonderful mix of ouds in the base and ambergris that gives it more airy depth.

How is the Maroke Ceylon? Liking it?

I am really loving it and it was one of those ouds that I knew was superb from the first smell from the bottle. If you have smelled Suriranka Senkoh 2.0 then this will smell familiar yet a bit darker and heavier due to the Maroke. Basically it has the floral, oceanic, green perfume aspects of the high grade Sri Lanka with more body and oomph behind them while still be soft, subtle, and gentle. It’s a beautiful oil and I am happy to have a full bottle on the way.

If you like Sri Lankan ouds then this is a winner for sure.
