North Papua Gyrinops from imperial Oud. Shares that kind of green profile that runs through a lot of gyrinops - similar to gyrinops 0 from lmk or mustaqbil from aso. Same theme. But this one has a darker vein running through it - more heavy bass and less heady. Really pretty incense with green.

Small swipe from a sample of AA Royal Malinau on right and EO B50k on left. Since both are Malinau so I wanted to do side by side. Very high quality, gorgeous oils and smell very similar. I would say the RM is more clean, sharp and I think—in focus. Maybe a diff in age? Distiller? After first half hour I think it would be difficult to tell them apart from each other.

Not sure it’s possible for a DHL day to be better than this! Not even sure what my swipe of the night should be. Sultani and OR should be reserved for the last 10 nights of Ramadan right? Just incredible, thanks @Ouddict !

Comparing/contrasting some darker flavors this evening which I'm starting to dig more - some of these super terpy malays with that almost polish top note that might turn off those new - I know id totally be turned off by these 10 months ago but now I really appreciate them:

Ghaith mid arm - terpy burned lime opening
Kadrie - more brown, leather dark

Then on the other arm - super hoi Ann - always a pleasure start to finish but the dry down is belisima!

And Layth earlier today - a pretty by the book cambodi - really good and clean but I need to study this one more. I know it got a ton of love. It's beautiful for sure but feel like I need to throw on a big dab and leave it untouched and wet to really see what's going on beneath the surface.

On my chest for some yoga - a massive triple wet swipe of agar harvest 2a. Here's the thing - it's cheap so no guilt but also after a while makes me a little tired of smelling it. It smells super moist and linear. Very soaked aroma - not much to write home about but for yoga it's nice since you can totally create a bubble. I will say when I sweat though, it makes me a little queesy - almost too much of an ok thing creates a meh thing.

ASO jannah on the right arm - lovely dark green jungle. Another kind of moist and humid style oil. Comparing this with others of similar profile, I have to say this stuff really kicks butt! I used to hate the green oils - Papua and marauke oils but only bc some of them I feel like go too high frequency and lack any real bass. Not this one. Nice vegetal, vetivery but with a really masculine vein - this sort of jungle humid smoke. Like the day after a rain when you are camping - right by where the fire was the night before. At 8am when it's super humid outside but the sun is starting to heat up the surrounding nature and burned logs from the fire pit. For me this is totally a summer tour oil - grab the van and let's turn off for a few weeks and go explore nature! A winner of an oil.

Ooh. I’ve only smelled one other Kelantan oil, EO Oud Ahmad....and its an absolute beauty

I red quickly the description I don't think it's the same kind of profile.

It's more kinda "kodoh kyaraesque" kind of with purple resin (almost à la Crassna without the fruits) and bright perfumey kind of old school Malays.
