What do you get from this one? My exposure to Malays is limited but I'm interested by the profiles.
This was the first wear, as soon as it arrived in the mail. I find judging at this point to be misleading as to the overall experience of an oil. After another wear or two, over a period of time, I will answer your question to the best of my ability, God willing.

Al Hashimi - Seeniya. Very coppery tone - milk and honey. If you told me this was a new batch of JK's deep and buttery sandalwood, I wouldn't bat an eye. Very yellow/gold in tone and that kind of sandalwood creamy incense goodness. Maybe some tuberose or white floral under it all as well. A really nice happy and bright Chinese oil that has that lovely "ringing" quality to it. I would LOVE a bar of soap that had this aroma - feel like it smells very clean and smooth woody. Maybe it was soaked a little bit? - but not barny or anything.

Starting the day off with Al Hashimi Adnan and EO Tigerwood 1995. Adnan has a lovely perfumey opening and a subtle dry down. Tigerwood 95 has a clean dry down with some green spices dancing around. Good day today. Peace

Hello to everyone 🙂 I'm new and would like to join this great experience exchanges here.

Let me start with my todays comparison I (tried to) make
Left Hand: ASO - Al Malik Al Maliyzi
Right Hand: EO - Oud Ahmad

Both have the same DNA and almost the same dry down (what wonder 🙂)... but anyhow I like ASOs start orchestra more. More than 12 hours passed but can still inhale both deeply even though the sillage are on skin level.

What do you think about this both? Which would you prefer?

Regards from Germany

AA Luang today. Simply awesome. Clean smelling wood with that radish/carrot/earth note I’ve been told is Kinam(esque) that keeps coming in and out in waves. Major uplifting mind-buzz too. A seriously great experience. Might be (sell some other stuff, and buy a) full bottle worthy.
did any one get those note i luang mean radish and carrot ? its hard to describe an oil did have some similar nte to prachin special k ? @Dan @Dean

For your reference, I have attached a conversation I had with Taha about this note in Luang. I am a newbie to Oud, but I am confident in accurately describing what I smell. To my nose, Luang has a Carrot/radish/earth smell without a doubt. But, I’ve also learned through formal olfactory training (in a different hobby), that everyone smells things differently. The wonders of men (and women et. al of course).

Since this is OOTDN, My Oud of the evening is Habzoud Ard. This (to me), has a beautiful horseradish note and I think a sedating effect, although it could have been the lack of sleep last night as well!

Welcome brother! I’ve never smelled the ASO but if you’re saying it’s comparable (or in some ways better) than Oud Ahmad, I’m interested! Anyone else feel the same?

This is probably the #2 reason many Ouds are sold.

To add to this I will also say I use the relationship to food a lot, because that’s how I was taught in the vintage cigar world (the other hobby)—I believe it’s also used in wine tasting as well. I am starting to see food doesn’t always apply correctly to Oud in all instances. However, I would encourage anyone with a passion for anything olfactory related to work on fine tuning your sense of smell and sense of taste by trying to focus on what certain food ACTUALLY smell and taste like. A fun experiment is to try and smell and taste water, any water—and then describe to yourself the smell and taste of it. Its shockingly difficult to do.
