No words to say about this exquisite oil. Just smell and take it in and hopefully it takes you to a better place than where you are physically if not then find the closest clinic and check yourself in.

Assam asli by imperial oud (upcoming release)

A really enjoyable Assam Hindi with only the tiniest smidge of barn, character adding barn almost. The sort that adds to the experience rather than taking away from it.

I get a lot of the usual Hindi facets

leather, smoke, woods, dark tobacco along with hay.

The barn in this one is just the right amount for me. This oil has been cleanly soaked for only a few days using bottled water, as a result you get a nice pristine Hindi oil with only a passing glance of barnyard funk, hay almost more than anything else.

I’ve already put myself down for a bottle [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] really enjoyed this one.

Malinau Bold (upcoming release) by Imperial Oud

This one starts it’s journey with a green and jungly like incense accord, I also get some soil, spices, woody notes and a honey like sweetness which creeps in humming away. The honey slowly gains in strength as times goes on. The oil then opens up into a thick, sweet, resinous green profile, with the jungle like notes fairly typical of the region becoming more prominent.

These notes then rest upon a bed of cherry, vanilla, bitter woods and a menthol accord reminding me somewhat of camphor.

The delicious Malinau sweetness lingers until the very end. [emoji39][emoji3059]

An amazing offering from Imperial! I couldn’t stop sniffing my arm, not a good look for me at work [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787].

Peace be unto you. Have any of you tried oud from Pierre Black from aromasublime.com? I would appreciate if you can share your experience and quality of their oud.
I’ve mainly spoken with Tony B., but I assume the oils are the same. Pierre has been very kind as well. For the oils I’ve tried I’d say they are typically a thicker viscosity, almost honey like. The top note on most offerings is unique to AS, and I haven’t experienced the same DNA in other oils and can’t quite describe. Slightly bitter, medicinal. Not sure how/why. The oils become distinct from each other over time. Overall not in my top tier, but certainly worth having in a collection.

This is the last of a number of yet to be released oud oils sent to me by imperial oud

This one is called Hainan S3

The oil opens up with the textbook Sinensis profile.

I get a bitter, herbal, sharp almost nutty & woody profile. Imagine walking into a Chinese medicine shop with all the precious herbs and ingredients on display, housed in antique Chinese wooden cabinets.

As we journey on florals start making their presence known and this becomes almost like a well blended perfume with an ever so slight honey sweetness coming into play. However, the nutty bitter facets of this oil continue to dominate till the very end. A very enjoyable oil that starts off very sharp but smoothes out gradually to a wonderful balanced base of herbs, bitter woods and honey.
