That’s how it strikes me too! (Though I can’t agree on the VSk//Yaqoob comparison— but we can’t agree all the time. 🙂 )

i just lined up some Agar Aura Malays for comparison. I’d say I’d rank what I’ve tried like this
Cintaku (highest, most challenging piercing notes)
Mahkota (most all around pleasing, beautiful and high grade)
Bentong Unreleased (very close in quality to Mahkota but oudhier and more citrus/lemongrass/resin inflected, not quite as transparent)
Malaya 2(I like the incense/Oud angle that this adds to the other oils)
Sik(a nice baseline oil, beautiful— just not quite at the level of the others but only truly noticeably lower grade when compared to the others).

blue Malay: I truly can’t tell. This oil is like a blind spot for me and I ran out of the sample before I figured out what I thought!

Agreed all around on the Malay oils, Taha usually hits a home run with these.

I think VSK sucks, pretty standard crassna vibes - dried plum, leather, etc. My absolute least favorite profile.

0.00% kinam of any size shape or form. Really scratching my head that people were comparing this to kinam or nha trang ltd, just reminds me why I rarely trust peoples noses or opinions. Just my personal opinion, coming from the guy who made a lengthy post on the EO group pointing out how 0.00 of EOs “kynam” oils actually smelled like kynam, in the sense of actually smelling like it and have the aroma of it, which is what the words mean lol. The only oils that actually smell like kynam are HK from Marius and Hainan Qinan from IO, out of all the hundreds and hundreds of oils I’ve tried.

As a side note, I also thought Guallam No 1 sucked super hard as well. Im also the guy who can't believe or accept people pay money to smell like leather bandaids(Crassna oils) or cheese(barn oils) or cow shit/piss(super barn oils.) I know peeps really justify it and maybe feel passionate but at the end of day, the reality is someone paid hundreds or even thousands of dollars to smell like bandaids, cheese, or feces 😂😂 AND there is absolutely nothing NOT comical about that. 😂😂

Oh and how could I forget the hardware store/Home Depot aroma AKA all the Tigerwood from EO - smell identical to walking into a Home Depot.

Lemme know if anyone wants my VSK sample, only used a tiny dot and won’t be using it again😂😂

Imperial Oud - Aceh.

Again.
I have a big jar of perfume samples and decided to spray Portrait of a Lady by Malle for some reason this afternoon. Very loud, wanted to get it off but stuck with it. Pretty nice in the end. Washed it off (it's still there though). Put Aceh on the other arm. Felt like coming home. Now I can relax...

Haha, so on point. I have and love the burnt cable, bandaid vibe that TR has. Never smelled an oil that has this facet. It literally smells like cables, bandaid all the way through the base. This is an oud profile I would enjoy wearing at a heavy metal concert. Still, it's much more than that. But yeah......

I knew there was a reason I loved it: it smells like our guitar techs work bench over on stage left. Good stuff.

Fully agree on that part about leathery bandainds 🤣🤣 or any other barn side of oils...but we are all different and we got different tastes also
On the other hand i enjoy vietnan Special K ,is not kinam if you expect to be near burning experience of kinam ...but it has a red kinamic vibe to it ,kind of consensed milk or milkshake of strawberry/raspberryes and some greenes from hainan side 😛 .

Yeah “kinam kind of vibe” is a bit of a stretch from Taha saying it has 4 facets of kynam 😂😂
