There should be a bell that’s sounds every time someone asks if Brandon Gilbert is Therapeutic Fragrance Brandon. Hi, Lucas. No shade, it happens ALL THE TIME!
Im going to start my own fragrance channel called Fragrance Therapeutics, just to confuse people more.

"Hi and welcome to Fragrance Therapeutics. Im your host, Brandon from Portland. Not to be confused with Therapeutic Fragrance Brandon also from Portland."

I hate to say it but you’re kind of correct on that scent association. I just did a quick smell test and I can see where you’re coming from.

Now I don’t think Oud Yaqoub and VSK are anywhere close to similar qualities but the scent profile for sure is there.
which one? the plums, leather, and band aids? haha

yeah VSK is def a much higher quality oil made than Yaqoub but the scent profile was similar to me.

[Ouddict.com] Oud of the Day

Green Silani on the left
MiskuAmber Sri Lanka Dehn Oud
on the right.

GS opens with a little herbal, floral,
bright, a little woody, and a touch of cream.
SLDO opens a little sweet, a little woody, a touch of cream, and a little incense chip resin.
GS is more vaporous and has more power.
GS is more low temp, SLDO is more classic.

Then GS turns more floral while with SLDO
florals appear. Both oils start showing more incense chip resin, with GS more sparkling.

The power starts to level-off making them more similarly strong.

At drydown SLDO is all Walla Patta, while GS is slightly less because of the remnants of the low temp top notes which at this point are not as desirable as at the beginning, making SLDO much more satisfying at this point.

This comparison was a nice long ride with interesting progressions, I like both oils.
To me, GS starts better, SLDO ends much better.

Had the opportunity to try Guallam Kilam from Oriscent today... not sure what to think. Literally smells like swisher sweets... the little cigarillos that are apparently the most popular machine rolled cigars in America. I don’t know. Doesn’t really smell like oud to me but I suppose it’s just my nearest scent association? I guess that’s just a brief first impression.

Al Hashimi - Lindaraja

I actually appreciate having an oil that's such a short, but exciting, blast. Something to swipe quite late in the evening without worrying that I'm missing interesting moments while I'm asleep. That bright and fizzy opening was appreciated on this hot and muggy evening.

Gotta love EOs write up on it, “kynam is the truest and strictest sense of the word” 😂😂😂

reality: swisher sweets

This makes me want it even more. I looooooove that exact smell. I don’t smoke but my wife loves rolling blunts so our house is filled with cherry tobacco everywhere.
