The Oud Lab Borneo Kin , for lovers of borneo 3000 this is your perfect chooise (not original borneo3000 )
The Oud Lab Merauke Shinrin - this oil reminds me alot of kekuantang tenang from brother Farid LMK , but way deeper and bodied ,little earthy ,some pencil shavings vibe to it ,warm spicy, wifts of clean vetiver haitian , dry oceanic ambergri , nothing sweet to my noose , but indeed very enjoyble smell , zero barn.
Thanks! I was wondering about this Borneo.

Agreed. One of my favorite Cambodians I own and I think age plays into that a lot. It’s pretty underrated.
Did a side by side of Raja Khmer and AA Khmer Atique last night.

I think they were offered around same price range. Both are as thick as they come. Thicc.
Raja Khmer has more of berry dominant leathery opening while Khmer Atique is more of spicy sweet woods.
Raja Khmer has more fun and frolic whereas Khmer atique is quite straight forward.

One thing that sets them apart is Longevity. Atique just gets absorbed into my skin and disappears. I could smell Raja Khmer on the back of my hand even when I woke up this morning.

Oud Hindi Global’s newest Incense grade Nagaland distillation.

Azeem also sent me the wood it was distilled from. I put a sliver on the subistim and it was eye opening how accurate the oil was. Quite literally identical to the wood.

As for the oil it initially opens with a thick maple sugar, cumin, and chai spice with a somewhat “salty” characteristic. I never picked up on how Hindi’s can have this saltiness to them but the overall effect feels like an amber accord at first. Lots of incense. Slightly Smokey but really it just smells like the wood.

The heart is just the scent of the wood. Identical in every way. Azeem says it’s incense grade but honestly it’s just really nice mid grade stuff. There’s none of the sweet honey and hay vibes going on. The whole profile is darker but still clean. Hints of florals and green tea. The drydown is bitter green tea leaves and bright oleoresins and incense. Beautiful oil especially for the price.

Habzoud Oud Altawas

From the time I sent the payment, I received it 6 days later. Factor-in the handling time….that’s fast.

Swiped twice, but after a long day at work, so my sniffer is at it’s worst. Anyhow….
nice oil. Top Fraction-ish without still or spirit notes, and I’m not to keen on assessing the drydown (as I mentioned, late night sniffer woes), but I did pick up the Cambodi oudh, which reminds me of the same regional profile Taha used for Sokh Khmer, but Altawas does not have fermentation notes as Sokh Khmer.

I can’t wait to keep exploring this oil, and to try the free samples of Cambodi Smoke and Al Janah 3. ❤️🙏

Jinko Lokma
Reading Marius' description made me swipe this sample with care, because I thought it would go in a gourmand-like direction. Well, my assumption was wrong.
Very clean, no barn whatsoever. Upon my first sniff got a tingling sensation in my nose, made me wonder what grade of wood was used for this.
I get a tea like note, absolutely lovely and further herbs, chai and delectable vanilla. There are hints of smooth tobacco and ofc the comforting hay drydown.
Wonder why it is not sold out already, I'm on the edge of buying 1g.

Idk if you're familiar, but Habz has a great, lightly fermented oil in Cambodi Ateeq. It's next on my list, once my bank account recovers!

Burma Sauvage by Feel Oud

My first impression of this oil was one of shock, and even some disappointment. It's described as smelling like old oud chips, but all I got was fermentation, with a black cherry note hidden deep in the background. What a difference a few months makes! The barn top note is still there, but has mellowed out into a suedey scent that reminds me of petting a chestnut coloured horse with a particularly soft and lustrous coat. In the middle, there's a great maduro cigar tobacco note, hay sweet, damp, and aged, with a hint of stonefruit. The base then dries into a red currant / berry scent that I typically associate with Cambodian oils - sadly, I have no other Burmese reference point. In all, I'm glad to own it - this oil has really grown on me. One final thing to note, it is molasses thick, so be extra careful when pulling out the wand, as it needs a sharp tug.

Morning swipes
Habzoud Altawas and Al Jannah 3

Both super clean oils with very good regional representation, like the aromatics were peeled off the wood, and stuck to my skin, projection is modest, but when you come in for a sniff you are rewarded.

I like them both, but as a matter of personal preference, I like the Cambodi profile better.
I feel more of an affinity to old school Hindis, with a good soak, and a heavy compounds hit🤯

Royal Bengal Oud 60 Day Soak Wild Rangamati Hill Tract

I decided to crack open a sample of this that I had kicking around, as I have been really craving the smell of soaked ouds lately. The top note to this oil is simply insane - a clean leathery note is combined with a piercing, buzzy oud note. It was a mindbending sensory overload for me, but that could simply be a factor of inexperience, I have just never smelled anything like it. Middle note is a sour musky oud. To my nose, it has a lot of the grapefruit character that I've found in Hindi ouds. The base is tangy and sour, though less so than the middle notes. Has a soft incensey vibe, and a facet that reminds me a lot of nutmeg & the more cooling aspects of clove. I'm looking forward to owning a full bottle of this, and exploring other RBO oils.
