Spending the day with Siam SK and Kinabang was somewhat anti-climatic.

Both are great oils but dry down almost identical after the first hour. Siam SK is less complex than 4K but definitely darker with an almost patchouli-like woodiness.

Sitting across from Siam SK, Kinabang took on an almost earthy “olive” note if olives could be made of Oud anyways. Ive smelled this note in Pakhang by Tabeer Oud(always felt this smelled Cambodian in the first half) which is interesting because the similarities between these two are somewhat uncanny. I’m gonna do a side by side today and see what comes up.

The Oud Lab Borneo Kin , for lovers of borneo 3000 this is your perfect chooise (not original borneo3000 )
The Oud Lab Merauke Shinrin - this oil reminds me alot of kekuantang tenang from brother Farid LMK , but way deeper and bodied ,little earthy ,some pencil shavings vibe to it ,warm spicy, wifts of clean vetiver haitian , dry oceanic ambergri , nothing sweet to my noose , but indeed very enjoyble smell , zero barn.

Oriscent Oud Royal Maluku
space swimming 😋

Habzoud Al Janah 2

Smooth honey floral opening with quite a perfumey vibe. Then it gets serious with an oudy twang, a touch of tea, and a smidgen of vanilla.

My quest for the Holy Grail Hindi ended a long time ago, as with my Malaysian Mania, and riding the Borneo Train. But Al Janah 2 rekindles that memory (somehow Ajmal Millennium comes to mind).

Nice oil!

Just got home from work,
lit a quick stick (Borneo),
and now Chillin! with Green Silani,
soothing Walla vapors.
I’m so glad to have this oil.
Thanks to those who made it possible🙏
It’s one of the few oils I rarely wear because I want to keep being impressed every time I smell it.

I really hope you can get your nose on AJ3. It’s even better than AJ2! Pure Oud magic

Ensar samples disappointed me -- lots of hype -- assuredly quality but I was seeking longevity, and an every day use oil
so although a few of the samples I ordered from Ensar were magnificent none had any silage on the skin. Oiling a garment might be OK for winter / fall but still thats not what I was going for. If I recall correctly that didn't work either.
Personally as I try various houses ( all disappointing thus far {almost} )
I am finding a mixed bag. There is a lot of hype on this forum about HALAWA from ASO so that is on order just because I'm frustrated. and I have a few similar on the way.
This great great guy "Ish" from Royal Bengali Ouds sent me a crap ton of samples but unfortunately the Trat I liked became out of stock.( I believe ) either that or I got indecisive. I really should order something serious like a 6ML from him soon but the samples although great aren't having that longevity I'm looking for. Speaking of "houses" the big very commercial Swiss Arabian does have an attar that I love and use a lot...... again I wish it has some staying power. They also have a CPO that comes off like chocolate that I have no issues paying for even if it doesn't have longevity because both of those product do project well. Its almost a daily driver for me Oudhy chocolate. I tested another house I wont name and their Trat ( kind of barnyardy with "other Notes" I wont mention as to avoid the online fight again) but when I went to order it after their teardrop sample it wasn't the same . I waited tested the 3ml over and over and just liked its main notes even though the undertone had a Bleaaeek uggg blah splattooie to it. it started to not matter I just wanted that top note. So I order a 6ml and its no where near the previous tear drop sample or the 3ml I ordered Top note NOTE NOT EVEN PRESENT . So Screw one house never to order from again And thus we move on. All while the wifie screams in the background " that crap (oud) it makes my throat close up its nasty ..." I have jokes for that but lets again just move on Happy hunting bro. If you find something Phantasmal let me know I'm still trying to decide if any actual colognes from Swiss Arabian are worth ordering without the Oud "offense" my wifie doesn't like . I've catalogued their samples the EDPs and the CPOs from their sample kits. Well at least the Mens and Unisex. Wifie didn't want to play along ( WTF? ) I narrowed it down to a handful. But they aren't a priority. My Go to Cologne is bvlgari man black. Happy hunting bro.
Have you tried Trat Templar from Immortal Oud and Borneo Tarakan by Ashworth. I get decent longevity and silage is mostly a bubble. I find only the barnyardy oils are projection beasts. Both of these oils are very affordable.

All this being said, I wonder the cost of these materials and the markup they have now.
When I was in UAE, crap synthetic oud was being sold for more than EO organic selections and you should have heard the salesman talk.
If you are brown they tell you Arabs use this. If you are Arab they tell you other, more prestigious Arabs use it.
Instagram Oudfactory account. It's quiet popular in the gulf, with I think one of his fragrances winning a fragrantica award as well. My friend asked him what's the percentage of oil in your perfume, as he sells the oils neat as well.
Answer, we don't give out that information...

Disclosures and information just get worse and worse in person. Basically need to be highly well versed in oud to deal with those kinds of shops.
