Always been a fan of Habzoud's work and his latest Sinharaja is another great oil.

The first sniff immediately recalled EO's White Kinam, as both oils have a powerful vaporous projection. Side by side, WK is much more headier, but also has a mid note that while not unpleasant, to my nose isn't outstanding either.

Sinharaja journey, on the other hand, is loaded with intriguing gourmand hints. There's a freshness to it that is camphor like, but could equally be described like green apple or perhaps marine. The base and mid notes tilt to coffee and a raw cocoa note that is occasionally sweet enough to conjure toffee or burnt caramel.

A splendid oil from Habzoud. If Ensar had released it, it might be called it Chocolate Kinam...and sell for twice the price.
I'm genuinely disappointed I missed this drop as it sounds fantastic!

Emperor Kedah again today - lots of fizzy cherry cola.
Very satisfying 🙂

Been MIA while on tour. Sorry to be so out of touch. Hope all is well. Been really enjoying a little bit of Yu Nan and Pusong LTD from Oriscent while I convalesce after surgery. Both are fantastic. Been wearing Sultan Pasha/ALD collab Civet de Nuit and it just keeps getting better imho. Been burning a lot of Philippines stick from Doc I. Very powerful.

Oriscent did launch a Cambodi Chocolate (was that its name?) many years ago.

Emperor Kedah from Jinko Store is pretty incredible. First impressions:

Apple skin, fizzy cola, buzzy resins and a deep ouddy purple vibe similar to Purple Kinam. Imagine grape soda that’s slightly flat but with enough fizz to still tickle your nose. Except here there isn’t a saccharine sweetness like soda. Instead it’s juxtaposed with deep ouddyness, rich and powerful.

There’s a touch of fruityness as well but it’s not dried fruits or even cherries. To my nose it’s like apple skin mixed with those sweet green grapes you get that have a cotton candy flavor to them.

Yet another stunner from Marius. Good job bro!

I just applied a dab of a pretty old bottle of one of Russian Adam’s “bio oils” from shortly after he released the three chan-ko (or is it ko-chan??) oils. Is he said was prepared much in the way of oil number three in that set, which is a really unique Borneo-like Thai that resulted from non-soak distillation. 1 and 2 were the same wood fermented in different ways and durations and entirely lack the sweet balsamic Borneo vibe and are just typical high quality Thai oils.

This oil was relatively inexpensive and had a nice budding poplar and “riparian zone” fragrance I love so i bought a full tola of it. At first it had some of that sickening cherry/benzaldehyde sweetness and the sweet-and-sour-sauce pungency of most of the thai oils I have sniffed. so I put it aside because m it was almost nauseating unless applied in microscopic smudges or dabs.

Still has some of that maraschino cherry marzipan weirdness going on but man this thing really releases some prime top shelf notes once it settles onto your skin. I have it in a one Tola roller bottle, as it was not a huge expenditure.

Some of my other Thai oils have not really improved as the age but this one has become outstanding. I put on and hours later keep thinking it’s a different oil, when I’m trying to remember what I put on that smells so good. because it smells like some quality old aged oud.

I feel like oils from Russian Adam a.k.a.
Feel oud have been consistently excellent and punched above their weight so to speak

This vendor I have never tried his oil
I hear good things. I may get a bottle before full trade sanctions against Russia kick in....😲🤔
